What a terrible series, garabge goals, non calls, dirty shit everywhere, the Ducks play such a terrible style of hockey, and the refs let them get away with it

They were also better than Ottawa by a wide margin.

I just want hockey cities to win this stuff, that's my beef.

Ducks!

pretty good game; Sens slipped up quite a bit (scoring on themself, slipped penalty shot) and I am glad Aneheim won, they've been a great, consistent team for the past few years.

next year it's Lightning's time to win again, it's been 4 years (though one of those years doesn't count) - I can also see Flames and/or Sharks making it to the playoffs 08.

You know despite my disappointment and despite the fact that these past few seasons have seen teams in badish hockey markets win cups, each year has provided a good story. Andreychuck in 04, Brind'amour in 06, Selanne in 07 guys that have been in the league for years and finally get their cup.

I was reading old posts to see if I picked a favourite to win the cup. Loks like I didn't. Had I, I would have went with either Anaheim or San Jose in the West and Buffalo or Ottawa in the East. I know it's easy to say that now, but through it all, things basically played out as it would have been expected.

Congrats Ducks for winning the Stanley Cup, I am interested to see the ratings as the previous 2 NBC games had scary 1.1 and 1.9 ratings which are all time lows for primetime T.V for a major network.

That's the best trophy in all of sports. Congrats to the Ducks. I like their style. Habs better start getting more physical, that's the way to go.

Sens always have problems against bigger, more physical teams. Look at what the Leafs used to do to them all the time when they were nothing but thugs.

I blame bad marketing on the leagues part, and awful taste on americans parts for watching other sports over something as exciting as Hockey.

2 strikes in @ 10 years doesn't help. Too much player movement as well (imo)

I agree with your final paragraph. You pretty much nailed that point.

However as for the player movement thing, which mind you, I dont care much for either, since it's hard to build a cohesive team together and feel like you can relate to your team, every league is now like that, especially the NFL. And it's still loved. I think the NHL could get past that, but like you said, they arent starting off on the right foot in order to do so because of numerous errors they made in the past.
