He had great speed and could track a ball very well. That helped negate his weak arm quite a bit, but now that he's getting older and is banged up, something needs to give.

When he's healthy, even today, he plays a good CF minus the weak arm.

I read a rumour that the Yanks might shop around Abreu and Damon if they don't get their season sorted out soon. That's all well and good, but who is going to pick up underachieving guys that are paid so much?

How 'bout Dustin Pedoria? After hitting like .187 for the first month of the season he is hitting well over .300 now. It is good to see another product make it from the Sox farm system...Youkilis, Papelbon and now Pedoria

Hopefully he will make up from the lack of production from JD Drew, I really think JD Drew is gonna be the next Edgar Renteria in Boston. The good thing with Drew though is he won't crack under the pressure on D like Renteria did a few seasons ago.

Also I never think injuries are funny, but I must admit I did laugh when they announced during yesterdays game that the Savior Roger Clemens isn't gonna be able to pitch for about 2 weeks.

I mean I think Theo Episten is a great GM and all but there is certain free agents he just absolutely falls in love and he HAS TO sign them; Renteria, Lugo and Drew are the most recent examples. He seems to make great decisions otherwise, so I have tough time understanding why he over pays certain free agents that he loves.

Whatever though, the Red Sox really don't need Drew if Youkilis and Lowell continue to do work. Now with Pedoria starting to pick it up things are looking pretty good on the offensive side. Hopefully it keeps up

I think Clemens is holding himself back because he wants his first start to be a real weak opponent. He's now expected to start against the Pirates. It is *my thought (hope) that he's not got the stuff he thought he'd still have and is mentally unperpared to put it on the line.

I've actually liked what I've seen from him this year. He seems to have a real solid bat and has come up with some big hits. His biggest problem is his defense, he's definitely pretty weak in the field.

Not really sure if Torre is giving up on this game or what, but whenever Luis Vizcaino and his 7.33 ERA are in a game its pretty much a lost cause.

I've had a lot of confidence in this team making a run, but if Andy is hurt that really puts a huge hole in that plan.

Helton would be the worst thing to do. A huge contract going until he's in his late 30's. It would be Giambi part 2.

As for Teixera, any talks for him would probably start with a couple top prospects (Hughes, Tabata) so probably not. If they can somehow get him without selling the farm they should but I don't see that happening.

If it was Tabata and some lesser prospects I would probably do that. As long as the Yanks lock up Teixera. Gotta think other teams would be willing to give up a lot more though.

Joe Morgan is so awful. Earlier in the game a big point he was trying to make was that looking at a pitchers win/loss record was the absolute best way to judge how good a pitcher is. I never expect him to top other stupid stuff he has said, but he somehow does.
