Played the demo a bit. A lot of things throw me off, because they've switched around so much stuff. Grappling seems to only be done by RB+Up (or B for some reason) and the others are either power moves or regular moves, though I may have it wrong.

The worst thing is the running, though. Either I'm doing it wrong or you constantly have to direct where you're running, even when running the ropes. Really fucked me up when trying to do any kind of running move.

Seems that while evolving last year's grappling engine (which I liked) they added it to unnecessary things like running and virtually broke the game.

You should do like I do and check the IGN page for SvR '08. Once they've "counted down" a superstar, their "page" or profile, or whatever becomes linked.

Not a whole lot of new legends this year, or really much of a legends roster at all for that matter:

3 New Legends:
  • Sabu
  • Rick Rude
  • Terry Funk
The other 5 are all just pretty much superstars from the past that so many people who play consider legends that they are probably afraid to replace them with new legends at any point, so they leave em in:
  • Bret Hart
  • Mick Foley
  • Steve Austin
  • The Rock
  • "Rowdy" Roddy Piper
But 3 new legends is better than none I guess...marginally better.

Nope, they seem to do this all the time have a legend for a year or two then remove him for no reason instead of building the legends up as a secondary roster. Some people on here think having them is pointless though.....

Ya know, I'd like to see WWE put out a Legends game. I know there's already a "Legends Of Wrestling" series out there, but the gameplay on the third one is so hardcore bad.
All I'm asking for is a SmackDown style game with a small roster of 30 (just to have the right number for a royal rumble), and a whole heap of things to unlock like other legends, new move sets, FMVs of famous moments in wrestling history, and some little things.
I'd assume they have the bulk of the programing done already, so don't they crank out a Legends game in a year or two? Maybe take a year off from making the SmackDown games for this?

A legends game would be boring, simply for the fact that movesets would be rather limited and unexiteing. In a game like firepro or KOC, it wouldn't matter since those games involve a lot more psychology and pacing. With smackdowns arcade/sim style play, it would get boring fast. Thats why they had wrestlers in the LOW series doing moves that hadn't even been invented in their time.

The ign review states that if a wrestler gets injured in either gm or 24\7 mode theres no way to let him rest.

You can make the argument that not performing in your season isn't fun, but I can assure you getting your ass handed to you match after match because all it takes is a hip toss to cripple you isn't a good time either.
