Maybe he didnt plan on leading his head into that Turnbuckle, but he was pushing it it somewhere. Had it been 3 feet further down ice, his head still would have been pushed by charas hand into a hard surface. Still wouldnt be very good.

Looks like the Chara issue is going to become a bigger issue for the NHL.

Air Canada wants to end its sponsorship of the NHL and the NHL responded that if they want out, the NHL will cancel its bookings with the airliner and find a new one.

If Air Canada decides to drop its sponsorship, it also looses exemption rights for flights in the US due to US laws not allowing foreign airlines to operate just in the US.

Nearly everyone in this thread has shown you evidence to the contrary on what you think chara did and what professionals in the league have said about chara is critisizing not condoning.

Doesnt matter. Even if he didnt aim for the Buckle - Still a hit to the head, and still was trying to push that head into something, anything. Dude has broken vertebrae due to a hit to the head. And people want a suspension. Even just one game. Which happened to jsut about every other head hit. Shit, someone jsut got 3 games yesterday (slips my mind who).

Regardless, Chara should have got some sort punishment. Chara showed no respect to Pacioretty. You don't have to like your opponents, but you have to respect them. Pacioretty might never play again, it's no better than what Todd Bertuzzi did.

Here is why I love that so much.
