I think my enjoyment of the dark side has softened me to Star Wars as a franchise…

Obi Wan is a bit of a wank when it’s Ewan instead of Alec but that show is good stuff. Vader-wise it gives me everything I need. I just wish Palpatine was in it.

I also like The Mandalorian. That’s just classic Western stuff. #FreeGinaCarano

she has good inflection. most child actors, because theyre children and dont have a grasp on words let alone emphasis, really struggle with iit. but she's pretty good in that regard. dunno if its her acting coach or the director but she works. but anything physical becomes cartoonish. they should have shot around the issue no clue how they looked at the dailies and decided to ship it as is.

I agree with Destor on Leia's running. It was...atrocious.

Also--I was being very forgiving with my post about Leia's message. I'm hoping Obi whips out the old memory wiper from MIB at the end to make everything right.

I'm still a bit underwhelmed by the show, continuity aside. Last episode was a step in the right direction but this should've just been a movie or something.

One of the good things in The Last Jedi was seeing Canto Bight and the kind of "upper class" people of the galaxy.... I'd be interested in seeing more of the "upper class" since the low class scum/scoundrels/rebels/bounty hunters has been done....

A Lando series starring Donald Glover would be cool for that maybe... he's a scoundrel for sure, but he constantly gets in with the upper class (if only to swindle them)

finale really justifies the shows existence. weird to have the A plot resolved before the B plot when the A plot is the one the audience clearly is more invested in but its still good; they don't drag their feet on the B plot so its not a major issue. def deflates the momentum though.

Enjoyed elements of the finale a lot but I don’t know if I feel fulfilled to where I needed this show more than another new character. The fight was badass, though. And the visual at the end (as well as the sound of a certain someone’s voice) of the big fight was cool.

I feel the first few eps plodded along too much to be forgiven despite me having fun watching Ewan doing his thing.

Last two episodes were good.

Alrhough, I'm not really sure why he leaves Vader alive, but okay. Guess leia annoyed him enough were hes hoping vader goes out and murders more children.

Yeah. And seeing Anakin's face filled him with conflicting emotions since he essentially raised him. It plays in nicely to how he was insistent that Luke needed to take him out since he himself failed to do it and it twice when he easily could've and it led to more suffering across the galaxy.

Hes not a pacifist either. I feel like if it was anyone else you'd have a point, but we've seen how much death and destruction follows Vader. To allow him to continue that feels to me like it goes beyond mercy, and into stupidity. Kenobi is compassionate and merciful, but also willing to do what needs to be done.

I guess I felt they didnt give me a good enough reason that hed leave him alive, especially after seeing what hes capable of after doing so the first time. Add to that, he flat out says, Anakin is truly dead. So he wouldnt be killing his friend but rather this thing that is just destroying everything it comes across.

I mean Obi-Wan was Anakin's brother as much as Luke was his son, and Luke couldn't kill him either.

But I agree that the show didn't explore enough emotions to tell that story with the appropriate gravitas. For such rich characters, the writers really made the show feel skin deep. Then it tries with the Wrestlemania moments (Obi letting Darth live) that lack the proper legwork to truly make sense without the appropriate cannon-based mental gymnastics.

Heroes letting the villain live for the sake their ideals has always been a sticking point with me. A slippery slope, if you weeeeeellll. Its a classic trope. A great one even. But for me, it has to make sense. Once the villain does too much, too often, then the hero sticking to their pronciples, starts to look less heroic, and more selfish.

And again, for me it comes down to Kenobi having already made the choice to spare him once before and seeing the misery and death that followed that decision. I need a VERY good reason why he would choose to make that choice again. But the show didnt really give it to me.

All that said, I still enjoyed the last two episodes. As a whole the series was okay. Hoping Ashoka is Mando quality. Andor looks a lot more interesting than I thought it would.
