Alex Smith is safe. You know what you're getting with him and he doesn't make stupid decisions that put his team in jeopardy. When you take a guy that is decent at everything that doesn't make mistakes and plug him into a winning system, he can win. It's going to get sticky when they get down by 2 or 3 TDs, the defense isn't dominating, the run game is going nowhere, and Alex has to step up and win the game.

I also hate him because he refuses to throw the ball further than 10 yards and utilize Dwayne Bowe. But his play reminds me of the great Trent Dilfer, so that's something.
