Its like that sometimes when careers are cut off when they are peaking. Edge, Owen Hart, Cory Graves to some degree, and what we thought was HBK, are some of the ones that preceded him.m

This reminds me of the retirement of Eric D in CHW...a man who was on the verge of his career and retired too early. I know he retired into bodybuilding but its a huge shame to have lost him

I don't think it's a case of WWE/powers that be/Vince hoping and wishing for his career to end early or deliberately putting him down because of his size etc. They were well aware of his immense popularity and would have not wanted to slay the golden goose laying the eggs as it were. Hence he got the major pushes and title runs. Despite being stripped of the title he had 3 WWE title reigns and a WHC title run which a lot more than many others could have hoped or wished for (e.g. Goldberg, Piper, Scot Hall, Ted Dibiase, British Bulldog, Mr Perfect etc).

We shouldn't write the obituary just yet though but it does seem ominous.

furthermore, I don't believe the injuries are as a result of him being small as there have been small/smaller wrestlers who have managed to take hard knocks etc. E.g. Rey Mysterio, Eddie, Jericho, dare I mention him Benoit. etc.

It's just fate and how cruel it can be.

I wouldn't say it was down to fate as you say. I think his style has a lot to do with it. It is so hard hitting and high impact, and that sort of think takes its toll no matter who you are.

He has been quite foolish coming back the way he did and not changing his style at all, although maybe its a case of the damage being done already, it might not have made much difference.

Benoit would have arguably ended up the same way if he had lived, and some would say it was his hard hitting style that contributed to his demise.

Perhaps yes Bryan at the best of times can be reckless with his moves. But I don't think his size made him more vulnerable/weaker etc.

One thing that bothers me is that I felt he came back from injury way too soon and imo should have sat out the RR and Fast Lane and heck even Mania.

I'm the sure the fans would rather have had a 100% fit Bryan than only 40% and then being pulled from big matches because of his injury risk.

Part if not the vast majority of the blame needs to be at Bryan's door rather than WWE booking etc.

I was thinking the same he seems like a thoughtful guy so it's weird that he rushed back I think there was a lot of truth in what he said about his father passing and wrestling being a way to deal with it like when you throw yourself into your work after a big loss but I'm speculating so...

You can't fly through the middle ropes head first every single fucking night and not expect bad things to happen and careers to be shortened. I would rather see Bryan eliminate moves like his suicide dives and flying headbutts and maniac running dropkicks in the corner than see him cut his career so short.
