I didn't see all the instruction videos, but I just wish they had it like 07 rather than by wrestling style. Also lol @ CM Punk making HHH Submit in them.
Just had my first match, no idea what the controls were, loading time is still pretty piss poor, but HBK and Flair looked alright, and the weapons looked cool, as is selecting them under the ring. No idea how to grapple properly yet, wish they'd stuck to 07's scheme.

Meh, I'm still buying this tomorrow whatever happens. I really enjoyed the demo and pretty much enjoy every game they put out.

I'd prefer that version too. But I guess their logic is that with more recent legends, they have to give them an older look to make them feel more like legends, rather than something we saw 3 or 4 years ago.

On that note, I'd love if instead of 'alternate attires' they put in Classic Attires. Kinda like what they do with Kane every year(and I hope they've continued this year). So we could get blueblood HHH, badass Taker, classic mankind etc.

I just think it would be a much more popular idea than 'DX attire' or 'Bald Mcmahon' as alternates.

It should have done a lot worse believe me. Here's an average 24/7 mode storyline, I'll detail the whole progress:

RAW after Cyber Sunday. Stupid backstage thing while JR and Raw talk about the start of the show. These are random and have no bearing on whats happening. J.R. welcomes us to Smackdown! (Yup... Subtitle even confirms it ) and talks about Cyber Sunday. I have a match against Shawn Michaels tonight. Bored of playing matches, I pick to play as Shawn and give myself a cheap DQ win.

After the match Dreamer leads Lashley out and talks about how ECW is the dominant brand and Lashley could beat anyone.

Vince brings out the "WWE Champion" Batista (Uh, World Heavyweight Champ actually) and calls me the World Heavyweight Champ (No, WWE Champ, dick) and at Survivor Series, it will be a triple threat with all the champs for each of the brand.

Shane leaves me a message saying that not every McMahon backs Batitsta and I'll be getting an interesting call.

Next week, I have a match against Batista, non-title. I win, nothing interesting happens.

Mid-week I get a message from Dreamer saying I will pay for not accepting their offer. I never got an offer and I've set it up so if I have a message, I'll get a warning message about proceeding with the days events, so it never came through.

Raw, I have a non-title match against Kenny Dykstra. I win it and then confetti is coming from the roof and J.R. and King are so happy that I didn't lose the title to ECW (ignoring the fact it was non-title and Kenny is on Smackdown....). King is very glad that I have ECWs help at the PPV because I won that match.

Another cutscene, Dreamer runs me over in his car and Lashley beats me up. Dreamer bitches about me getting Lashley out of the main event.... Again, no choice on that.

I get a message from Shane saying I should have accepted the offer from ECW and he worked hard to make that deal. Shanes not even been on camera yet....

Survivor Series starts, the main-event is now a Handicap match with me and Lashley teaming up against Batista for the WWE championship. Go to PPV hype video and J.R. is talking about a triple-threat match with all 3 titles on the line.....

And I'm about to do this match now. BTW, it's all like this, it's not just a messed up storyline that made it through testing....

Post match, it says I've won the World Heavyweight Championship as well although it's not referenced in my profile anywhere and Lashleys involvement has been forgotton by JR and King. Also, Lashley hasn't left the ring nor is he in the ring. He vanished....

EDIT: Got a message the day after from Coach saying I can either keep the WWE championship and stay on Raw, or go to Smackdown with the WHC. I also had a message saying that I had a salary bonus of $1 a year.....

I'll reserve judgement until I have played it, however watching some of the videos on YouTube, the selection in music this year really is poor. Thank God that custom soundtrack is available for the 360, because if it wasn't, the only song I could tolerate hearing would be 'Get Out Alive' by Three Days Grace.

Something else I noticed, a few people have drooled over the Rated RKO finisher. In my opinion, that's nothing compared to the Knee Facebuster. Something that's so simple, but is effective and appears devastating.

Ended up getting it today, seems to be "ok" at the moment, haven't tried 24/7 yet. Is that the only mode where we can earn money? The create a belt option seems to have improved since last year though

Played tonight for a while, seems to be a lot of hit detection issues, was swinging a "trash can" about like a loon earlier and every time it looked like it hit it was just sort of sliding off the opponent. Weapons on the mat create invisible walls that you have to walk around, can't remember if it was like that in 07, if so theres something that makes it even more annoying this year.

Grappling detection issues as well, i tried an ultimate control grapple with khali, the opponent was outside of the grapple range and khali missed the grapple but somehow ended up with him grappled anyway. Ive also been standing behind opponents who have just got off the mat and tried a quick grapple with my arm clipping through their head but the grapple refused to connect.

Ai also seems pretty stupid, in hardcore matches they just go for random walks around the ring, one time masters had me in a total control move for a frontslam or a fallaway slam, instead of doing anything he just stood with me for maybe 15 seconds then dropped me due to exhaustion,

The game does feel really clunky, the demo actually felt better to me for whatever reason. As said above theres just no flow in the game, everything feels laboured and akward. And the new walking animations..well you seen them in the dmeo, looks like they got a brush pole lodged up their asses.

I was trying out a fatal fourway match and it seemed like i couldn't choose who to fight, the back button didn't seem to do anything and your focus would randomly change when you got close to someone..which sounds good but its a pain in the ass if theres a few people bunched together.

Got it this morning and have been playing it for an hour... So far I'm not blown away, but will come back with some more concrete opinions after I've had time to get used to all the changes.

24/7 Mode just looks shit though, I'm not looking forward to trying it out.

Got it this morning and I'm really enjoying it. Especially extreme rules. 24/7 isn't great, and should have stuck to normal season, but it might grow on me.

I'll give this a rent next week...I wanna at least try out Extreme Rules/play as CM Punk and Tommy/try out custom themes

I'd still give nothing more than to have VO taken out completely for SVR09. Even though the storylines were always recurring, I played HCTP's season about a dozen times because you could shift the rosters and always wound up feuding with new people. Now with the storage power of 360 and PS3, you could have a similar season but with even more different storylines.

Totally agree with Vito. To be completely honest, VO hasn't bothered me before this game. But now the stories are that bad, that I'd be very happy with text dialoge and to be able to use anyone in season.

I'd say positive. I'm really enjoying high flyer and hardcore. Conchairto and putting the chair on someones throat and stomping on it are incredible. I can't work out how to face someone else though. The back button worked in the demo, but just seems to do stamina now....

Also, I don't get why we can't use certain people. My guy has spoke twice in 24/7 mode in the first two episodes and since then has been silent for 4 months. WTF was the point? Especially as MVP has VO in the game as an NPC....

Played this alittle more earlier and got three red lights, although after taking the leads and cooling fan out, it seems to be ok.

24/7 is average, I'm really not liking the way you build up your caw attributes, especially the strength, they get reversed almost everytime due to A) No strength to begin with and B) Low stamina. Will press on with it though, even if its just to try and get the stats.

I'm liking the fighting styles, they make sense.

Yeah, basically what Disturbed said. Although I'm not liking CAW as much either. Still trying to work out how to set your attire for entrance only etc. Necklaces are still painted on to the skin, which is awful because Def Jam were doing 3d jewlery(and 3d facial hair, which is still missing) back in the ps2 days. So alot of work to be done there. I'm loving exhibition and all the match types. Just they took a step back with 24/7 imo.

You still need to press right stick to cycle through the match/cutscene/entrance thing but instead of having a list where you can see which has what, it just shows up in the list. You need to delete that stuff you dont want in your match or cutscene, very confussing and annoying.

Started 24/7 with my CAW. Trying to build up strength is pissing me off. 3 minutes to try and hurt the opponent long enough to do a bunch of ultimate grapple moves is just frustrating.

EDIT- Aha! The strength training is actually piss easy if your guy has a Powerhouse fighting style. I just did lots of low impact grapples and irish whips to get my meter up, saved the fighting icon, then if done quick enough you can get 3 ultimate grapple moves in before the rampage icon burns out. Then repeat. I think it was 5 ultimate grapples you need to do.

There must be some way you can get unlimited CAW points like last year. Because I wanna create some wrestlers and legends with thier own themes but I don't want to take forever in building them up.
