Think I finally found the way I'm supposed to be going. Right after I got the horse, I had to go toward Stormgate. There was a fucking giant.... thing, that jumped down so I took that as the queue to mount up and GTFO.


Later, my wife saw me die to a "regular" mob and called me a noob as she walked by. She's happy there's a game I'm not steamrolling.

This game is fucking great man. I love that every encounter can go wrong any moment. Went through some barracks ruins and had these god damn goblin statue things ambushing me, making me bleed. That shit was hard, but I got through there.


I kinda wanna start over and play a bandit. I heard the knife builds up bleed damage, and I love dodging, striking, and evading. Been playing through the ruins right outside of that blockade a few times to get more used to combat and improve. I've gotten some decent pieces of armor from it too, which I either equip or sell and level up.


Figured I needed to level up because Margit fucking wiped me before I could even blink.


I love this game. It almost feels like the very first time I fought Nergigante on Monster Hunter World. I was stuck on that fucker for a couple weeks man.

Was talking to Fignuts last night and learned the hard way that one of my controllers has stick drift. Had cleared a group of 4, walked away to help one of my kids, and then I hear SILENCE from the main room.


Character casually walked off a cliff - that was not cool.




Think I'm level 14? Messed around with Margit a bit, got him down to almost 50%, but definitely going to have to level up more and come back with better stuff.

So I reached the northern most part of the map, and its really tough, but Ive managed to hang with the enemies. Even beat a field boss. Then I unlocked the secret are nearby and oh god my poor asshole. It will never be the same.

this game is so god damn amazing. gets better the longer i play. took down a few bosses now, I'm lvl 27 I think?


Holy SHIT at the scale of this game man. Also, I found a mace, and leveled it. Blood damage is fucking lethal man. 3-4 shots on most things and BAM, blood explosion and death.


I cannot even imagine what its going to be like when shit gets real and I actually can live long enough to hang with the demi-god bosses. Lookin at you Margit, you ugly bastard.


Really enjoyed the Longboat boss in the flooded town. Just got my flask last night, after nearly 50 hours in, lol.


I keep getting the itch to start an alt. I found a whip. A fucking whip. No one told me I can go Simon Belmont on their asses. Kinda wanna make a dex build after mucking about with a dagger that had "sidestep" on it.


I can see an assassin type being VERY difficult to play, but also damn fun.

Took down Margit at 35 and Godrick at 40.


This mace man.... I just keep leveling it, and it just keeps bashing things. Gonna go try to find the place to activate Godricks rune or whatever. Probably get thumped again.

I did end up respeccing to beat Malenia. I just dont see how its possible with a colossal weapon. Just way too slow to hit and dodge, and even blocking restores her health. Went with a bloodloss dex build, and I dont want to say it trivialized the fight but I beat her fairly handily on the second try.

Did the secret boss at Crumbling forun azul and now Im just leveling weapons I might like to use on ng+. Might buy all the champions armaments too.

I did go back and do some previously undiscovered caves and catacombs. One shotted a boss in weeping penninsula with my weapon skill

I did almost get malenia once with the colossal sword, so maybe it is possible, but I feel like I would ended up fighting her 50 more times before finally getting it done and I just didnt want to. No regrets.

It is, I beat Malenia with a Colossal Sword. The Godslayers Greatsword is the name, but it is classed as Colossal. The one with the sick black flame attack.

It was trying af and involved absolutely precise timing on those attack queues to get in hits with the black flame.

I went to help my friends fight Mohg, despite having never faced him myself. They didnt care, as they had already died like 50 times and just wanted help

Ended up stepping too far into the door and triggering the cut scene before they could summon me and we're like "okay well I can at least see some of his attacks before I die and come help you guys"

Got him on that first try. Friends had a aneurysm and couldnt beleive I did it. Looking at some other peoples experience, I cant beleive it myself. I didnt even have the shackle or the special tear to make it easier.

Just walked in and slapped him in the dick.

The "spirit" version of Mohg (I think he was called The Blood Lord or something like that) or the real Mohg at the end of the palace at the top of the underground area? I remember finding the knockoff one just exploring one day and thought he was fairly easy and then got murderized by the real Mohg a couple times at a later date.

Spirit wasn't the right term, it's "Omen". And yeah, Mohg The Omen is the boss in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds under the capital. Same dungeon where The Loathsome Dung Eaters real body is located.

Have to imagine at his point he means the standard Ancestral Spirit from the first entrance into the region. Which yeah, that's a really cool boss.

By the end I think I finally settled on my favorite weapon: Rivers of Blood. Absolutely love that Katana and the speed at which it's special attacks. Blood loss build up too. It's a peach. And it looks cool as shit.

Still carried the Sword of Night and Flame as well as the Godslayers Greatsword as well though. Night and Flame is beautiful for crowd control even after the nerf and The Queens Black Flame from the Godslayer might be slow but good god it does the most amount of damage.

Off hands included a seal, the luzat scepter (wasn't the best but it looked the coolest and I just needed it occasionally to pop a sorcery off) and the silver mirror kite shield (carrian shield is stronger at +25 to the +10 of the mirror, but again, looks way cooler lol).

Need to remember the name of the one dragon incantation I was in love with. Greyolls or something like that. It's just a freaking shout but it basically terrorizes enemies. You can roll up in a bosses (even a lot of major ones) face and use it and it will stun them and even potentially cancel them out of some attacks. Saved my ass a few times and even let me wreck a few easier bosses without them ever being able to really fight back.

Ruinous Greatsword is my favorite right now. Special ability sends a wave of gravity energy across the ground for quite a distance. Its wide too. I go to the farming spot at Moghwyn palace and can get 60,000 runes in about 20 seconds.

Academy was awesome. Accidentally cheesed the knight right before the lift to the boss.


He chased me, I ran onto the lift, stepped on the switch and then ran off the lift. He jumped trying to get back to me. Easy shield.


VERY fun boss fight. When she summoned the dragon, it legit made me fucking jump, but also wasn't even mad I died like that. She took me 2-3 days, and when I beat her, she hit me only once.


Going through another river now, underground. Not sofria. Beat the guardian bosses ass there.


Something is wrong with the quest where I release the sorceress, Lynell or whatever her name is?


I encountered her early in the game at the waypoint ruins as usual. Got the quest to go free her, found her, but she won't speak. I have the scroll from the other dude at the manor (I'm horrible remembering the fancy names everyone has, sorry) that is supposed to introduce me to her, but still - nothing.


So I am trying to kill some giant fucking dragonkin knight underground instead.

Beat the Dragonkin getting hit only once. Bitch.




Got a larval tear and STRONGLY thinking of respeccing to dex..... but wasn't 100% if I should or not, because my spiked mace smashes so hard. I def didn't put in enough endurance though. Can barely take 3-4 shots before stance break. Think I've put 3 points maybe? As I've progressed, dodging really seems to be "the way"

You probably also have a starting sheild with shit Guard Boost, which determines how much of your stamina bar guarding takes out.

I bumped up endurance a lot so I could carry a colossal sword in one hand, and a great sheild in my other while wearing high poise armor. I could eventually guard the biggest attacks in the game without breaking stance.

I didn't even know what that was, lmaooooo. 100% using a "brass shield" from Limgrave.


Had a Lordsworn Towershield, but it became too weighty.


Went to Roundtable Hold and was all "why is it so fucking dark?". Killed the bitch-ass skull-wearing edgelord and now I am a skull-wearing edgelord. Too bad the stats aren't as good as D's Twin armor though.


I have the dagger from Blaaid's quest, and a few other "decent" dex weapons. I've not even been using weapon skills man. Just smack, block/dodge, smack some more.


Somewhat afraid to fuck with it, and make myself useless. At the same time, I feel like I'm gimping myself. I can't use any incantations at all, barely any skills. I can summon my wolves once and all my FP is gone.
