How have you not finished Reach on Legendary Kalyx? I don't even like the Halo series much and have beat it solo on legendary.

I have absolutely no reservation about calling the Mass Effect series one of the best stories every told in video game history. There is absolutely nothing that comes to my mind that can hold a candle to the way the story is told in Mass Effect. I can't recall any other game where the choices you made in the first iteration, would have an effect on the third. The game has RPG elements, shooter elements, and is perhaps one of the most fun, immersing experiences I've ever had with any form of entertainment, period.
I will say this, Kalyx, if you can't find the time to play Mass Effect 1 & 2, in that order, you're missing out on gaming history. And to be frank, you can probably bang out each game in a week or so. |

Would anybody play Bayonetta because I said it is the greatest action game ever crafted? Cause you should. Just putting it out because I put a lot of time into it and even now I'm thinking of new combos.

In all honesty, Bayonetta is a game not eveyone would be able to enjoy. A killer story though, anyone can appreciate.
You keep bringing this up, but the argument is totally different. You love the engine of Bayonetta. Not eveyone is gonna give a rats ass about an engine in a game enough to see through it. A story though? That shit will grip you and drag your ass to the very end. Mass Effect as a GAME is fucking awesome. As a story? Epic. Now play Mass Effect 1 for fucks sake. |

Bayonetta gripped you?
Really? I mean I will freely admit that from a gameplay standpoint, it is the very best of it's kind. But the story seems pretty crappy to me. Standard Japan anime type stuff, really. |

If You guys think I play Bayo for the story you're mistaken.
Far as I'm concerned, I'm a bigger proponent for gameplay than story. |

The fact that you have KOTOR on your list of favorite games, should make the decision to get Mass Effect a no brainer

It was funny seeing the guys praise the streamlined options in ME2, as I imagine ME1 was closer to KoTOR in some respects. But I was the type of guy who spent an hour messing with items and buffs and stuff to get my cast just right for battles.

I played both KoToR games and never felt that the item management was all that daunting. In ME1 I felt that it was tedious. ME2 has a nice system.

Yeah I would say ME1 was similar to KoTOR in the way you used your powers/items, but it just wasn't as polished as KoTOR's system. I was happy with how they streamlined the whole thing in ME2, as it made the action play out more fluidly, whilst still allowing you to have your options.

You can't just pick up the game mid trilogy. You will lack any connection emotionally to old faces and stable characters.

I hate this thread just because I play PacMan, KoF '99, killed Baynetta twice anemometer SF1 before 2 (and all the choices I made carried over from 1 until 2, totally making that point relevant), not on CT leaderboards because I already have it on DC and PSP, yet I STILL know you should play the ME games in order because it is fucking epic.
It is the only game I could watch if it came out in movie form unchanged, bar Shenmue. |

EPIC FAIL of a thread.....
Shwag!!! BTW if you cannot convince a person to play ME1, then it the person probaly doesn't derserve to enjoy the game! There should be no convincing when it comes to ME. If you are any kind of gamer, it should be black and white. You play ME because it is one of the top 3 series of the last 10 years of gaming. |
