Too bad Mike Knox never got the opportunity to turn face. He could have been an awesome tag partner for John Morrison. They'd enter in slow-mo with Morrison's hair and Knox's beard flowing in the wind.

I'm with those who aren't shocked about Shelton Benjamin. He wasn't in any programs, hasn't been in one since he faced Christian in a TLC match in December, and he jobs every year at Wrestlemania, which is fine because he makes the MITB match better. But the dude is barely on 2 PPV a year. He's been under utilized for years...as good as he is, he wasn't going to go anywhere with WWE.

Just hoping another "gold"en one isn't gone soon...

Yeah, back in 2005. If memory serves correctly and I'm not just exaggerating, I think there was at least a dozen if not more fired from WWE during that week.

Still kinda shocked about Mickie and Shelton, the others I didn't really care about all that much.

Don't forget there are always some releases after the draft when someone gets drafted to a new show and the writers of the show go "Za, What? We don't know what to do with this guy" and then they get released before ever appearing on the new brand.

Knox just seemed to be a perfect example of "creative had nothing for him". When he first got drafted to SmackDown he picked up an "evil doctor" gimmick which I thought seemed awesome. Then he didn't win a match in 6 months despite having the kind of look WWE would push.

Wow, I am legit shocked at Shelton and especially Mickie James.
Same, even though they never seem to do anything with Shelton i still feel they could've done alot more, he'll be in TNA for certain. I have always thought mickie would suit TNA too.

With one less show to promote people on, some of the good but less featured stars make sense to let go. I wouldn't be suprised to see anymore good wrestlers being placed on there...wonder if Christian will end up on it.

I don't think Vince is that stupid. If TNA had RVD, Hardy, and Christian (3 of the most over faces in the business), it would seriously hurt. He'll just continue to keep him under the glass ceiling is all.

My meaningless opinion:

Irritated with Yang's treatment since they fired Shannon Moore. Glad he's got his freedom.

Irritated that they honestly couldn't find anything for Knox to do when Finlay got hurt.

Irritated that Funaki started up the Kung Fu gimmick and garnered wins with the crane kick on SD, only to be moved to Raw almost immediately so they could crush him into nothingness again.

Irritated by Jesse's treatment overall. I sincerely hate it when they split up tag teams prematurely, and even moreso when they split up tag teams without a plan for either man. The wigger thing was a very bad idea, but that's really not the point, I guess.

Baffled that they kept Katie Lea after firing Paul, only to fire her after a few months of nothing, anyway.

Surprised Mickie lasted the last year, anyway. Hopefully she and Maria do well enough with the music to let WWE know they don't need them, either.

Surprised to see Benjamin gone, but let's not kid ourselves, the guy is his own glass ceiling.

Anyway, hope they all do alright.
