No, it's not cos of that at all you jumped up prat.

It just doesn't float my boat. Simple as. I find myself wanting to play different games these days, so much so to the fact I've pulled out my A1200 to play side-scrollers.

All the pre-release pics / vids / chat make me less and less interested. The reason I check here is for more info / if anyone has found some more info that I've not seen.

If anything your post is the fucking pointless one and full of errors. I'm a moderate fan of the Metal Gear UNIVERSE (i.e the originals from the 80's / 1990 and Acid on the PSP), not just Metal Gear Solid and who gives a shit if it's a spin off? I didn't say I did.

It still boils down to 'Post in this thread to say I'm not interested in it.'

I post in plenty of threads of games I will never buy, but merely to say I won't buy it. Pointless.

While I don't care what you buy or not, I'd like to know if you like action games to begin with. And I mean action games in the sense of DMC, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden and such - because that's what they're going for here.

According to Hideo Kojima, Gray Fox and not Raiden would have been the main character for the game if he was in charge of the game's development and not just on its production.

Ended up deferring the actual choice to the rest of the team who favored Raiden for the game.

Right then, not sure how I feel about it. May be I just need to get used to the system, but parrying feels haphazard, and Free Blade doesn't feel natural at all.

Parrying got easier for me once I seen when to input the command. Free Blade got better as well. On my third playthrough I weaved between attacking, parrying, and Free Cutting like a man possessed. The combat flow is so fucking slick.

If you're not locked on the camera will fuck you over, but I'm starting to think this is just inherent to all action games. Still, the game as a welcome addition of auto-tracking when enemies are nearby similar to Batman AA/AC, which mitigates things when more enemies come on.

- Wait til the enemy telegraphs his attack and hold toward him and press X once, do not mash it or do it too early. As far as I know, you can parry anything. You can also Free Blade incoming RPGs.
- Ninja Run into his sliding attack (Y) for a small launcher type thing where you have an advantage to Free Blade or go crazy with combos.
- Cut off dudes' legs for lulz.
- Bridges and catwalks can be taken down by slicing their support columns, but I can't tell if that hurts enemies.

What was weird on my playthrough (only one thus far) was that things would either go real good or real bad. When I got to the "boss" fight at the end of the demo, I restarted a few times. I found I would either get every parry perfectly and slash the shit out of him, or else I wouldn't get any of them and I'd get shredded.

After numerous play sessions, I can share some stuff you may not have gathered from playthroughs:

- Ninja Run + (Y) has a large hitbox and will soft-launch multiple dudes. You can activate Free Blade from here and slice up multiple guys at once.
- While usually you can't Free Slice a fully healthy mook, certain moves allow you to Free Slice them at will. Moves like the sliding kick above.
- Parrying needs you to hold forward and press X as they attack, the stance isn't long, though. In many cases it will reset the positions of you and the enemy.
- Ninja Run + (X) will deflect bullets. And make you feel like the God of Badasses.
- Yes, you can Free Slice incoming RPG rounds. Look for audio and laser sight cues. It feels great.
- You can stealth kill Gekko.
- The AR vision won't reveal every thing on the map. Explore to find some extra grenades and RPG rounds.

Move List (Made Up Names):

Strong Combo: Y,Y,Y,Y (Ends in lightnings legs)
Sliding Kick: Ninja Run + Y
Don't Give a Fuck: Ninja Run + X,X,X,X...

Dodge Slice: Right, Left X+A (or Left, Right) (Completely invincible)

Knee Slice: Away, Forward Y
Launcher: Forward, Forward X
Stinger: Forward, Forward Y (Very good)
Break Dance: 360 Motion, Y (wider hitbox than you think)

The latest Famitsu magazine has revealed a new character for Metal Gear Rising and the reaction to it has disappointed Metal Gear series creator Hideo Kojima. He says he now actively questions his faith and the existence of God.


In a blog post on Kojima Productions, Hideo Kojima laments the reaction to the return of Sunny Emmerich (formerly Gurlukovich) in Metal Gear Rising. He feels exasperated at the perverted content of her that has already been created despite the reveal being announced only two days ago.

Two days ago, I watched people pick up the newest Famitsu and saw their reaction to the return of Sunny in Metal Gear Rising. I enjoyed watching their smiles until I learned why they were smiling. My assistant did not want to share all the details, but I forced him to. I heard story after story about how people were sexually excited by her inclusion and would gladly buy two copies of the game since one might get “ruined”. Some even told my assistant that they were planning on making love dolls based on her.

I thought the internet would provide a better response. I was gravely mistaken. It appears that there were pornographic pictures already created of her. Even worse, I learned that people have been doing this since Metal Gear Solid 4.
Some people wanted to know if she had “sexy underarm hair” like her mother. They described in elaborate detail about wanting to see her delicates and other such horrible things. Some even wanted to rip the 3D model from the game so they could fulfill their sick fantasies.

One person even Tweeted me asking me to read his script on a hentai he was working on. Do these people think that I would be okay with it? Why would God allow people to behave this way? Am I wrong about my faith?

I am still ruminating about this. I will let you know how I feel in a few days.
