Serena's sudden release from World Wrestling Entertainment is being compared to Mickie James' dismissal from the organization earlier this year as both involved matters concerning behavioral problems on the road.

Serena had been warned several times by management to tighten up her road behavior as she was putting her job at risk. It ultimately reached a point where WWE had no choice but to let her go, just as a big push was planned no less.

It is said that the episode of SmackDown in which Serena was caught drinking alcohol at a bar was designed to send a message to her over her partying habits. An irate CM Punk immediately chastised her following the airing of the video, but she was forgiven the following week. Luke Gallows, however, refused to follow suit and walked out on his fellow Straight Edge Society members.

News of her departure is being kept under wraps internally, but an announcement is expected to be made this weekend.

shouldn't the undertaker be fired for showing up in pictures of GETTING MARRIED while in a VEGETATIVE STATE? lol obviously i know that serena is way less of a loss, but the timing is really ridiculous.

that being said, i think it's safe to say that she wasn't released solely because she wasn't living out her character in real life. the released cited "behavioral issues" as being the reason she was released. i'm sure that WWE would prefer if she would be totally straight edge off camera, but i don't think they would release her for that. for going on black out drunk tirades, or something of that nature, is another story so i'd be quicker to assume that that was the case rather than her release being because she didn't live out her character.

If Serena was warned about her behaviour, then I can understand the release. Pretty much what Xero said. If it's for the character thing, then that's pretty messed up. Unless she was going around telling people it was all bullshit and such. She could just get drunk in a wig and no one would know.

My guess is she'll go to TNA and provide them with another steady hand. I believe she has done a few appearances with them in the past. I'd actually mark out if CM Punk came out on SmackDown! and goes to Mercury & Gallows "You thought your position in The Straight-Edge Society was safe because you won last week? It's not. Serena's gone. Why? Because I said so."

While I liked Serena, I think the group might actually be tighter with her gone. Although SmackDown! needs more face girls with Tiffany off TV, Beth Phoenix injured and such; I've got the feeling they will be doing some sort of unification thing with the Women's and Divas Titles soon (so LayCool can each carry around a belt). What if Kelly Kelly's old CM Punk obsession was played up, and she joined Punk?

I'd actually mark out if Punk brought in Lita, shaved her head, and made her a new member of The Straight Edge Society, though.

If you watch her on this last Smackdown you can tell she wasn't really into it and didn't want to be there. It seemed as if they told her beforehand she was gone or something.

I think she'll be brought back ala Cryme Tyme and Daniel Bryan. This was probably a release to let her know they were serious. She has too much potential for WWE to let her go somewhere else.
