SmackDown! did lull for a bit recently, but the entire format of the show changes heading into WrestleMania -- things become a bit more of a hype machine. There were times where SmackDown! was beating the 2011 average -- a year when Christian's reign, Randy Orton's reign and Mark Henry's reign all saw slight drops in television ratings. And I'm not bashing those men -- I've enjoyed them all in the past year. Your bashing of Daniel Bryan and his relationship to ratings is completely irrelevant, though. Oh, and did I mention that although CM Punk's segments often drop-off with women and children ratings-wise, his matches with Daniel Bryan would often see spikes in the ratings about equal to that Cena and Rock's segments would get (Note: Not equal viewers; equal spikes). Daniel Bryan proved to guys much smarter than you, Gertner, that he could handle being the World Heavyweight Champion and do a successful enough job at it. Not only critically, but commercially as well. That's why they didn't pull the plug on his World Heavyweight Title reign heading into WrestleMania. Oh, and let's not start the "over" discussion: If you are Daniel Bryan -- kudos to you, sir. You're doing a great job. |

In all seriousness Gertie, I like you, and even though you're a big troll, sometimes you're pretty funny and some of your insults are pretty hilarious. But Daniel Bryan is a former World Champion. What have you done recently?

Also, Punk vs. Bryan actually earned RAW hundreds of thousands of viewers. http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/p...10023714.shtml I know the February edition of RAW in which you are talking about. The Rock's promo at the end of 27 Febuary earned a lot of viewers in the week you are talking about, but that was an overrun that actually lost more viewers than the Punk vs. Bryan match did when Cena came out. Is Cena also a terrible failure? The shows in general have had decreasing ratings in general with rare spikes, and this is with Daniel Bryan as World Champion. So to say that he is responsible when Randy Orton and John Cena can't even guarantee viewers is absolutely ridiculous. The Rock didn't even pop the Survivor Series buyrate by much. |
