lol, they were random, and I fucking hated that. That was around the time they began getting away from the "team" concept. You had Smoking Gunns, New Rockers, New Blackjacks, etc and then fucking Yoko and Owen.

Yoko and Owen were random, but they were 2 time tag champs and defended their titles against multiple teams. Even though they were random do you consider them a tag team ?

Even before that though, you also had former tag team champions Sparky Plugg and The 1-2-3 Kid.

Same era, mid 90's. 95/96. I zoned out during that era because it was atrocious lol. I was referring more to the 80's WWF.

How do you feel it effects the "legit tag team" label if the two guys have a common manager?

So would you consider The Colossal Connection ( Haku and Andre) a team then ?

Yes, see: official Tag Team name.
To elaborate: They were originally just members of the Heenan family, however, they formed a team and had a team name, hence, they became a tag team. Eventually Heenan would abandon Andre and Andre turned, ending the team. |

No. They did not have a team name. They were just Yoko and Owen who were teaming because Cornette managed them both.

They could have gone with Camp Cornette which was the stable name, but that would have to involve there not being a stable and Vader and Bulldog having to "kick rocks".

Another example similar would be the Twin Towers, who consisted technically of a fat white "african" and an evil cop. They had that name and therefore were a team.

Bulldog and Owen were the same as Yoko and Owen. Stable mates that teamed up.

Yeah, I figured most people on here didn't watch much before late 80's so I was only gonna include teams from that era and beyond.

Kane and X-Pac had no common links but I loved the fuck out of them together.

I guess Kane didn't really have a common link with any of his partners outside of Taker really. But I enjoyed him and X-Pac the most. They were a legit team in my eyes.

They were the same. They were both put together for storyline purposes with no real plan to keep them together as a long-term team. As Iggy mentioned, the Kane/X-Pac was the better story IMO.

I just realized Edge and Christian by itsmeJD's guidelines are not a legit tag team.

It's weird though. You made the rules of how you consider a team a legit team. Then you broke them because you don't consider JeriShow a team but you admit that your rules do actually make JeriShow a tag team despite not considering them a tag team. lol

I agree. Teams that were solely brought together for storyline purposes won't be included. Even though some of them have team names, like Jerishow, Rated RKO, Two Man Power Trip, Dudes with Attitude and so on.

I GET it.
Still... You've said you don't consider JeriShow a tag team but you also admitted that by your rules, they are a tag team. They're YOUR rules. Why make them to admittedly break them? lol |

If you only apply the two rules listed earlier they are a tag team. I do not take into account however, tag teams that were created for the purpose of an angle.
Also: Win if you can, lose if you must, but ALWAYS cheat. Rules were made to be broken. |

But really, that's what I meant earlier by "rules" being kinda silly since it really just comes down to a feeling. I don't know exactly why Edge and Christian are a legit tag team. I could dissect it but it surely wouldn't come down to something so simple as fitting under two or three guidelines. |
