I could never really get into DoR or DoR2. I don't know why, I think it just seemed bad to me.

The best matches I ever had, without 'playing it up' and 'dragging it out', where me and other wanted to win and the match looked PPV worthy - was in DoR2. Never since.

I played DoR (whichever one had the outside of an arena as the backdrop from the menu) quite a bit and it just felt bad. Cheap and hollow. I can't do a point by point breakdown of why unless I played it again.

I think a lot of it was down to it feeling pretty barebones.

I played Fire Pro on the PS1 but it was Japanese so I had no clue. All I knew was a guy was stabbing some other guy in the head with a fork and the ring blew up.

Apparently there have been a few people play testing this, various people on twitter have been tweeting about it, and so far everything has been positive. But then again, they are from gaming sites/mags so take it for what it's worth.

We get promised a radical new version every year and it's just the same game with a few tweaks, a new story mode and new wrestlers, most of the better new ones costing you extra as DLC.

I've learned to live with this, and I usually pick up the next edition when it hits half-price.
