Chris Hero? Moar like Sub Zero cause every sub he meets turns to zero!

Hes so fat, Mickie James wishes she was that skinny!

Seriously, Chris Hero needs to be sent to OVW and face Doug Basham every day for the rest of his life.
Chris Hero Vs Doug Basham. Every day. For eternity.

Perhaps the "funniest" thing about this is that WWE likely would have pushed him under some gimmick where he's always wearing a shirt, like The Shield, and all this hubub about his muffin top would be completely irrelevant.

Yeah until he has a heart attack mid way through his big blow off Wrestlemania Iron Man match with John Cena and Cena has to improvise the last 30 minutes against his bloated corpse while the audience mocks his workrate. Don't be that guy Ohno.

He looks like shit. This shit matters in entertainment. Why do you think Megan Fox has a job?

We live in a world where looks matter, and basement dwellars like yourself can try to convince yourself otherwise, but there is a reason Hero will never make it, and Natalya is a fart gimmick that follows a giant around instead of headlining the divas division.
Have you seen the guy wrestle? He doesn't get blown up easy. The dude is in tremendous shape.

I agree with you on the point of looks apparently mattering in the WWE. To me, they don't matter as much. I'd rather someone be good and look kind of shit than look the part and be really shit. Ideally, someone would be the total package, but if I had to choose one or the other, I'd go with substance over style.

We dont live in that world. In this world Hero has + 100 workrate and -50 body and his lack of dedication to getting into shape, which every other WWE talent does, will cost him his career.

Comments like this make the guy sound like he's as big as Kevin Steen and lacks any kind of cardio because he has an extra few pounds around the midsection. I see you are being sarcastic, but some people will read that as gospel.

"Diamond Dallas Paige could live a thousand lifetimes with his genetics, and still never look like me!" -Big Poppa Pump (quote chosen for effect)

I "get" the point of view, but not everybody builds the same. There are people who seem like they barely break a sweat and they look as good as Drew Mac did when he first got called up, and there are some people who, no matter how much they diet and excercise, can barely define their abs and when they even skip a couple days, it all goes to hell. There have been points where people like Punk, Bryan, Jericho, even Regal have all kinda looked a little loose around the tummy. None of those guys have ever been chastised for "lack of motivation". He might be one of those guys who needs to almost literally LIVE in a gym to attain any semblance of shape, and even though they're in WWE, not only can everybody NOT do that, but it's kind of like that whole thing where Test resisted cutting his hair because he "has a life outside of wrestling". To us, it sounds like such a low price for more fame and fortune, but we don't truly know the sitch. Him "dogging" his workouts might mean he's in the gym for 5 hours a day instead of 6.

Besides, when you have a bodybuilding nut telling you you're not motiviated because you're not sculpted like a bronze statue is kind of like having Usain Bolt tell you you're not dedicated to running because you can't keep up with him in a competitive race.

One of the few times I'll agree with you.

Look, nobody here expects Ohno to look like a bronzed god. Look at the brand of athlete coming into WWE today, it's not the body builders of old. This is not a black and white conversation.

Look at Daniel Bryan, look at Chris Jericho, these guys have athletic, but relate-able bodies. They keep fit. Ohno looks like he probably does a lot of running (as he is by no means fat, just very soft and doughy) but no strength and conditioning. They aren't saying "Kassius put on 30 pounds of muscle" they're saying "Kassius like 10% body fat" aka, shore up your diet, and get some high volume training in. If you're an athlete, and your job demands you take care of yourself in that right, have personal trainers and people over seeing your fitness, being a little disciplined should not be so hard.

I think HHH's main beef, and the WWE brass's main beef is not with the fact he looks doughy but the fact that they asked him to make some changes and he's showing no intent to put the extra work in. For him in particular maybe they thought it would help his gimmick and his push to look more lean and athletic. The same as if they told Brodus Clay he was going to be a dancer, and he didn't do anything to learn how to dance and showed a bad attitude about it.

The same as some of our favourites who get caught smoking dope on the wellness policy. This is their job, and they're told not to blaze out. It's a bullshit rule but this is their livelihood. Smoking dope, much like Ohno having a doughy body doesn't impact ring work, BUT it's what is standing in the way of him and his big chance. And the same with not smoking the dope, it's not some HUGE ask. It's get into the weightroom by hook or crook, and knock out some fucking reps with the rest of the roster.

Much agreed. It'd be like if Jillian Hall refused to wear her fake birthmark or sing terribly.

Also saying that being in better shape won't help his ring work is retarded. If he trains the right way and works on his explosiveness and core strength, there's no reason it won't make him an even better worker.

*tumbleweed* I'm honestly trying to use reason and sense here, feel like what I'm saying is being constantly overlooked. WHAT ABOUT ME! WHAT ABOUT GORGEOUS DALE NEWSTEAD

-edit- and being as he's billed as some MMA knockout artist, I'd imagine they'd want him to have that MMA lean bodied look so it's easier to market him as such.

I agree with you. As I said -- if he was asked to do it, he should do it -- it's just not something that bothers me. I thought he was fine, because he was telling good stories and doing good work. If it works out well for him and he comes back shredded and Gertner loves him, more power to the situation.

What do you mean? JBL was ripped. Easily one of the top ten builds in pro wrestling. And so what if his title reign was an unmitigated failure? That just proves how good a heel he was.

JBL and his title reign were incredible. I miss JBL being around as a heel wrassler so much. I don't know if I'd give him best heel of the past 13 years, but he is probably damn close to it if he is not it.

Triple H as a heel made me want to turn the TV off. To be fair, I didn't really get into JBL as a heel, either. I found his promo work to be generally enjoyable and I think his WWE Title reign should have lasted until Judgment Day 2005, but he was kind of boring when it came to working matches and such.

JBL has entered Wrestling God status for me as a commentator however.

Triple H was a great heel during 2000-2001, but his heel run as the guy who monopolized the RAW brand was pretty boring. It did lead to great moments when he put over Chris Benoit and Batista.

I still think that John Cena should have been the US Champion heading into WrestleMania 21, and that his match against JBL should have been for both titles. The Cabinet should have attacked John Cena as it looked like he was about to win, either causing the DQ or allowing JBL to win the match if it were No DQ -- also explaining the short length given to the match. JBL would brag about how he knocked Cena back, but then the I Quit Match would have seen Cena overcome the odds and become the new WWE Champion, just shy of JBL reaching a year as WWE Champion.
