Nintendo revealed dates for a few upcoming amiibo figurines.

Could be a possible sign of future things from the retailer as Walmart decided they wanted to get in on the amibo scalping market with the Marth amiibo as a possible start. They got a new shipment of the figurine recently and deiced to hike the price to $28 each.

Ended up selling out almost as quickly as the first batch of the figurine.

Yeah that tweet was made earlier then pulled (probably at Nintendo's request)... I'm guessing a retailer jumped the gun on it

Really hoping it becomes official though. Would absolutely love a SK amiibo. Hopefully it also has tie-ins to the main game. Not expecting any SSB compatibility. Would be fucking sweet if there's a Mario Maker sprite for Shovel Knight

They're just collectible Nintendo toys that add some functionality to certain games (mainly Smash Bros)

some of them are rarer than others... if you go into a Best Buy or Toys R Us etc in the video games section you'll probably see a wall full of Mario ones because they're super common, but probably not any, for example, Kirby

According to Nintendo, they are not manufacturing the Shovel Knight amiibo with Yacht Club in charge of almost everything for the figurine.

Amazon seems to have pre-orders up for a bunch of them already... just placed order for ZSS, Olimar, Ganondorf and 8-bit Classic. Cool

Need to grab Dr. Mario and Bowser Jr. still... and Modern Mario. Hope I can get one of them while I pick up my Mario Maker tomorrow

Mega Man amiibo will be used to unlock challenges, kinda like how the Splatoon ones currently are in Splatoon. Kinda cool. Hoping there's a slight restock when this launches if that's the case since I do not yet have a Mega Man

I have probably about half of them... I think between 30-40, I haven't fully counted in a bit. I started late to the game and missed a lot of the earlier ones. Plus I haven't scooped up all of the super common ones (Peach, Bowser SMB, etc) but I can get those any time

Apparently Activision sort of forgot to include a nose for Bowser for the special Skylander amiibo. Also seems to be part of a wider problem with the current set of Skylanders figurines having defects or being poorly made.
