I guess this makes me ignorant in Moonax's eyes, but I have a random question.

I thought I saw on a map that the track events would be held in the building where the opening ceremonies are, but on the map I saw it aswell as today, the shape of the track appears to be an oval? Is this not the track venue or is the oval wide enough that a normal track is cut out inside it?

I thought the opening ceremony was gold. Really enjoyed it. Pity the fucking Australian media sit there yapping on about Sydney, yada yada yada, comparing Greece's one to the one in 2000. Fucking get over it, who cares. It was so good hearing all the media this morning say how Athens proved them wrong by getting the games ready in time. It's the way we are, we always leave things to the last minute but we always get them done.

In terms of actual events at the Games, I think I'm just going to watch the football.

As for the Swimming coverage, don't know about ESPN or any other station but all I saw on the Beeb this morning was Ian Thorpe.

Look at the 100m just now. Even Michael Johnson, the best sprinter you ever had didn't want the Americans to win because they are up their own arses.

I have admitted in the past that most Americans are up their own backsides. This is nothing new to me Harvey, but thanks for pointing it out. They/we are ALMOST as bad as you being up Lewis' "arse".

Yeah the Romanian's will pretty much watch anything.

I saw Australia-bulgaria in the women's beach volley-ball. Pretty and some other weird stuff.

Although I think after about the 8th time I got the message that the british judo guy got mugged inthe last 5 seconds.

Mind you the cricket was on as well. So it was a good day's sport.

I like the fact they never mention that the torch relay is a Nazi invention along with the 5 Ring symbol.

They screwed us americans out of winning the diving competition. We did it almost perfectly and they give us 6.5's and 5.0s yet the brits F up and they get 7.0s and 8.0s

America wouldn't have won that competition, or meddled even if they did give it what it could have earned. Fact is, momentum means a lot in sports. You don't have it, judges are more critical.

So, they had the mens gymnastics on at the bar I was at last night and they said that 2days before the competition the head judge told 2 us gymnists that some moves they do, won't be scored the same as they have been and basicly routines they had been doing for over a year they had to change 2 days before the olympics, one guy got a low score, the other added a new move that he only practiced once and missed it during the competition and injured himself (I didn't stay and watch, so I don't know the full extent, looks like he might have just knock himself silly).

Anyway, I don't know anything about the gymnastics... so, can someone who does help me out, why would they change the way they score something 2 days before the olympics? doesn't that seem like they just targeted these two guys?

Its too bad guys like Ray Allen, Bibby and Carter turned down the Olympics. They are actaully shooters. Puerto Rico is just sitting back in the zone and forcing 20 foot jumpers and none of the guys from USA can hit shit. Got a bunch of slashers and cutters on the team, no shooters.

I'm really looking forward to Track and Field events. I went to school with Jade Johnson and did training with Denise Lewis and Ashia Hansen (who isn't going due to injury) so definately want to see them do well.
