The site was working/not working, so I went to an AOL chatroom. Decent RAW, was hoping for some SD interference. HHH had to have been behind the JBL video. Why not use Christy for something better. She got paid $250,000 to shoot t-shirts? Double DQ seemed like a screwup, nobody in the arena seemed to understand it. Cool to see Sgt. Slaughter, but a good thing hes not in the ring on a daily basis. I still like Orton, but it seems turning him heel would be the better thing now. As HHH said, his destiny is over. Snitsky/Kane was better with some cool spots.

so that raw didnt really advance anything except batista's face turn a slight bit. correct me if im wrong, but so far in the pipeline for WM21 we have Batista - HHH, Taker/Kane - Heidenreich/Snitsky, HBK - Angle, and possible JBL - Cena. Where were the developments?? (excluding the last one obviously)

I only really watched the last hour of the show (yeah 24 rules!!), but it seemed pretty lackluster.
I thought they would shoot some major angles to get Mania going, but nothing really happened. No Angle-HBK interaction, ditto for Taker et all, and even Batista-HHH nothing really happened. Kinda wierd. |

Gouda's Raw Thoughts:
- I was shocked to see HHH start the show. - The above was sarcastic and those who do not realize this should be shot... or at least have something done to their voicebox. - Isn't winning the Rumble kinda pointless since the precedent was set last year that all you have to do to get in the Mania main event is knock the winner out and sign the contract? - What the hell was up with the finish to the Bentoit/Jericho vs. La Resistance match? Double DQ? For what? Getting out of hand. The tag match later on got way more out of hand than that. - Snitsky is hilarious. "Nice Shoes!" ![]() - The thing that was most on my mind tonight was... WHERE THE FUCK WAS CHRISTIAN?!! ![]() ![]() |

man to me it would have been gold is Cena would have shown up when Triple H was congratulatin Batista on his Rumble win. Then Batista could show up on SD! while Cena is in the ring. ya know get some real Raw vs. Smackdown! goin on.
anyway overall I didn't like the show that much. The thing that killed me besides the 20 minute promo at the beginnin was the endin of the Jericho/Benoit tag match. Those two as a tag team are aweosme. And La Res are also good but that match looked like crap. Like little kids runnin around tryin to do a match they threw to together in a couple of seconds. Then this whole Randy Orton concussion thing is retarded. More retarded than Eugene's character. I mean what is it supposed to do for a guy? But Kane vs. Snitsky in the cage was pretty good for me and that helped save it for me. Some of the matches on the card didn't help. But seein Theo on the show was gold. Too bad he didn't have a SmackDown! guy there as like a bodyguard type or somethin. |

Yep, what you just said in your first sentence was exactly what I thought they should of done. I mean, it's little things like that that make shows memorable and they just don't want to do anything memorable for some reason. It's like they can't deviate themselves from the norm for most shows/

I'm just wonderin are they afraid to make the product interesting again. SOmething that we would want to see. Sure it might have been a little precdictable but it would have garnered viewers. Then it also would have garnered attention for SmackDown! and got more people watchin to see if there would be a retaliation. Sets off a chain reaction and gets people slightly more interested. All from one action. But no they let it slide just like so many other things.
Now all that can be done is Cena rippin on Batista on SmackDown!. If he doesn't then I will be pissed. I don't know why but I will. |

Orton angle: I'm wondering if they might be trying to take him out with an "injury" for a few weeks and bring him back as a heel. If they really want to make him a star of Rock proportions, it would make sense that they might want to repackage his character, as they did with Rocky back in the day.
Benoit/Jericho: Personally I'd rather see them tag team than feud with each other. Ideally they'd both be in the title mix, but with the HHH/Batista drama (and likely Orton and Edge playing supporting roles) it's not likely to happen anytime soon. So it seems to me they at least give them a run at the tag titles. There they could possibly carry out the feud with Hassan and Dalvari. (Although for Hassan's sake they should be careful about doing that too quickly lest they would take from his credibility or simply make him squash fodder.) As for Benoit and Y2J, though, perhaps it's just the mark in me hating to see 2 face friends butt heads, but it seems to me they deserve something more that what they look to be getting. |
