Actually that's not surprising. This is probably something that could've been handled "in-house." Maybe they punish Edge. Maybe they just move Matt to SD! But with him going on-line, and the fact that enough fans are aware of what happened that you're actually getting 'HARDY' chants on Raw, you can't just sweep it under the rug. I understand Matt was upset, but he didn't really have to share it with his fans or post it on his site. He should've just beat Edge's ass and told people that he & Lite broke up.

Matt fans probably won't want to hear it, but airing your dirty laundry was a bad move on his part. It was like when Kobe Bryant went to the press and told them that Karl Malone had hit on his wife. Sure, it happened, but why would you let the public know that? There's no need.

Shoulda kept it in house.

Out of sight, out of mind. If this were someone bigger, I could see it being an issue. Live audiences are mainly mainstream fans. And most mainstream fans will forget about Matt/Lita soon enough. This isn't Bret Hart in Montreal. This is a guy with a dedicated fanbase who was never even given that much of a push by the WWE.

I think Matt's a talneted guy, but he should've knownw better. In any case like this, the WWE's MO is pretty much 'duck and cover.' And in three months, the only people talking about him will be those fans that actually visit message boards.

The reason Matt's been fired is a little hypocritical. When Austin left around WMX8 the WWE took every opportunity they could on tv, their website and their magazine to say "Austin took his ball and went home" and other such things. Granted, Austin was in the wrong, but it shows you just how vindictive the WWE is.

In all fairness though, if Matt Hardy did stick around in the WWE, they would have probably left him on either Heat or Velocity as some sort of punishment. Although I was well surprised when I heard about this in a pub, at least it gives Matt a chance to get his head together.

I am guessing that this is a mutal parting. I do not think the WWE, in their infinite stupidity, could ever pull off something like this on their own.

Then again, they have released Test while he was half way through recovering from a broken neck.

The best wishes to Matt. I hope he does well in whatever he decides to do.

When I first got back into wrestling (after an 8 year hiatus), its was the hardy boys who really blew me away in the ring (together with kurt angle and Chris Benoit).

Is everyone really that surprised? I mean when I first heard about the whole affair the first words out of my mouth were "Well there goes Matt now ". It's the same thing that happened to Chyna except she had no chance in hell of being able to get around it. It's all really sad though but Edge and Lita will get what's coming to them in the end because karma always comes back on you, always.
