Nah, I hear you. I (and about everyone else) missed my own draft and I was pissed. I did manage to get a good team though.

But anyway, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I SHOULD be there, I dunno. I move in on the Friday and I'll probably be able to get my comp set up by then. Like I said, FINGERS CROSSED.

Why does it matter if someone is there or not? There is pre-draft rankings for a reason. You definetly get a better team if you are there so you already have that advantage, I really don't see the big deal if certain people can't make it.

Not saying this becuase I can't make it, because I can but I don't see the big deal with people who can't.

Except the defense rankings are so fucked up that it's unbelievable.

And it used to be that you would have to wait three minutes for the computer to choose the draft pick, but I guess that isn't the case now.

It also used to be that the only people that missed the draft were people like KooS and BR who didn't even check their teams at all (I can totally understand if it's for an uncontrollable reason, but that has been the case a lot of the time).

So, for those of you who cannot make it for reasons beyond your control, pre-rank your players (especially the defense) and you should do fine.

Yeah I was gonna mention something about the time it took between computer picks being the only problem, but thats pretty pimp that they stopped that.

Anyone who can't make just needs to prerank like 1000 players, otherwise you'll get stuck with Dre Bly (pretty sure I pre-ranked atleast 200 players) in the 3rd round like I did a few years ago when I missed the draft.

Yeah, no need to really stick me into a low spot because I'm gonna pre-rank a shitload of guys before I leave.

My one question though: is this like in other fantasy sports where itll fill up all your starting spots first? (ie: say you pre-rank in this order:

1. RB/WR/QBs
2. TE
3. D
4. K

Will it go through and fill in all open starting slots before drafting the bench guys? Cause that'll make pre-ranking even easier cause I can cluster the D guys I want in one area so my offensive starters will get picked first.

Hey, what if I move the draft to next Saturday (or Sunday)? Would your schedules be able to fit that in?

I'm not saying that that's what I'm going to do, but it ultimately may be more convenient that way.

I absolutely cannot do next Sunday (13th) as I'll be at an RoH show. You could always push it back a week to like the 26th.

Also, Ferret appears to be dead, or on holiday or something. I doubt he would've pre-ranked

Not gonna be able to do Friday (work, then already arranged stuff for the night)

I'm leaning towards keeping it as it is right now as well. As long as people who aren't sure if they can make it prerank (with the exception of Ferret, who appears to be AWOL) then it should go ok. Might be an idea to send out reminders to everyone like a couple days before just to be sure.

Leave it as is.. if you change it then another 5 people won't be able to make it. Just pre rank your players, it won't come out so bad...winning an NFL league is a crapshoot with so many injuries every year.

I just checked out that Fox Sports fantasy football site, and it is pretty impressive looking.

Pros:
You can make up to two divisions in which people can compete in, which sounds really cool actually.

It's easier for me to edit settings and such with their system.

Live scoring, so you don't have to wait a day to see the results of the game.

For individual defense, instead of having just DL/DB, it has DL, LB, and DB, as well as another option where you can start any defensive player.

The draft would be on the same day at the same time.

More options with the scoring.

A more professional looking message board for all the teams.

The ability to see the team name and who is running the team (which I sometimes have a hard time with in the year).

Cons:
No decimal points for stuff like tackles or forced fumbles, meaning I would have to change the scoring system a little (just for the defense though).

Everyone would have to sign up again.

You would have to remember to go to Fox Sports instead of Yahoo.


I personally wouldn't mind switching to Fox Sports, but it's all up to you all.

I'll send people already in my league the information to the new league if enough people are interested.

The Fox Sports site offers for free all the stuff that Yahoo charges for.

I'm thinking about switching my league as well.

Plus you can somehow keep track of the league through MSN messeger..

I don't know actually, you do need to sign up, but you don't. It's really pretty subjective as far as sign-ups go.

Well, I joined the Fox one just to take a look and I gotta admit I am impressed by the presentation etc. Take a look at the draft screen preview:



Very nice and clear with some useful info that Yahoo doesn't have (far as I remember).

Dunno, even if the Fox one doesn't work out I'd be happy to switch next year, at least judging on what I've seen up to now.
