At the SmackDown! tapings, Sylvan defeated Chris someone in a dark match. I can't be sure who it was, and this is probably unfounded to present as anything other than a wild theory, but what do you think the chances are that it was Chris Kanyon?

There's what I'd like, and then there's reality. Fine line. Gays should be accepted, and so should all races/genders. With that said, I'd also like to work at a magical lamp factory where I have to commute on the Magical Unicorn crosstown to the Ginger Bread Bus back to Gum Drop Lane.

If I may be serious for a moment, In an interview not so long ago Kanyon talked about growing up as a homosexual (and some how already knowing he was gay at 4 years old, then confirming it by age 11) and how it tortured him inside. He gave the usual spiel about how it was to have to hide himself. Then he talked about getting a computer in 1996 and using it to hook up with men over the internet for one night stands (Nice job spreading diseases Chris). He made a big deal out of being lonely and having no one at home to talk to. As if it were any different than a straight man or woman without a companion. Through his career he said that no one knew that he was gay, even his closest friends. Yet he now claims that Vince McMahon fired him for being a homosexual. So if the people that are closest to him didn’t know that he was gay, how did Vince know and how did Chris know that Vince knew? Kanyon only recently came out of the closet and told people that he was gay in February of this year. More over, Vince has kept Pat Patterson as a pivotal member of his company for many years. Would a homophobic person let Patterson book so many matches?

Chris Kanyon tried to commit suicide by taking 50 pills of whatever it is that kills you when you take 50 of them (or should). More recently, he tried to kill himself by jumping off of a building, but not very hard apparently, as his brother and his friend knew he was gone and suspected something, then were able to go save him. From there Chris was diagnosed as bipolar. Ah, that explains it. But I wonder when his doctor will tell him exactly what being bipolar means, as I don’t think Chris has got it in his Mongoloid brain that Vince couldn’t have fired him for being gay if Chris didn’t come out of the closet until this year. Chris claims to be a million percent happier now that his secret out and he can be himself, but I think that this is far from the truth. Chris is obviously still emotionally distraught if he needs to blame Vince for his problems.

Chris needs to think things through and realize that no one has persecuted him for being gay, especially not before they knew he was. Kanyon claims that he is not doing all of this to get attention, as he’s already been highly successful, but I believe otherwise. While Kanyon may have achieved a lot in his career, he isn’t a superstar right now. He was last seen as a jobber in WWE and barely on TNA. I’m sure he’d love to gain a lot more success. Chris Kanyon is the epitome of bipolar, but he hasn’t even realized it yet. At first I felt sorry for him, as I know that he is just human and can’t control whatever mental disorders he might have. But now I really just feel like he is taking advantage of his situation and trying to milk it for all it’s worth. Chris Kanyon needs some therapy, so he can eventually look himself in the mirror and see where the real issues lie.

There's many things to consider here.

Kanyon has put himself in a really bad position. I mean he has come off as unbalancd and desperate. However he has highlighted the point of vince being predigious against gay wrestlers. I dont find that hard to believe.

I think if kanyon was hired by the WWE his gayness would be a factor as his character and indeed for his hiring.Yeah, it might be better for him but its tokenism and exploitation both on his part an of the WWE.

Lets take a minute to consider how the other wrestlers feel about working with someone who is gay in the ring? How would you straight guys in here handle having someone gay all over you ? I think it would be a problem and as such the business would suffer.

I do feel sorry for kanyon and hopes he finds some resolution in his struggles. Til next time , take care of yourself..and each other.

There are a LOT of openly gay people in the biz. Seriously. It may not trickle out to the IWC but they are out there. Now this isn't saying Vince may or may not be a homophob, but honestly, I see no connection to Kanyon's release and his homosexuality. I see a huge connection in the lack of drawing power and his release...and boo-fucking-hoo if McMahon didn't call him up to chat about why he got the boot. Have any of you heard of a single case other than Kurt Angle where McMahon sat down and talked with them on why they were released? Hell no. They get a voicemail or the head of talent relations talks to them and tells them their done. Work for hire, as soon as they are done making money off you, they don't need to tell you why you have to go.

Kanyon is doing shit like this to try and create a stir, not because he feels robbed by McMahon, because certainly he has been around long enough to know that the business isn't real kind...he is doing this to try and get his name out there so the next time a promoter walks up to him he can say he deserves a bigger check since he is so well known. The proof of this is when he fliped the sign over and it said "HBK pray for my gay soul" or whatever. He wants people to know he's gay, he wants that to be his gimmick, he wants a bigger pay check from wherever he can get it. And the fact he has won so many of you over with his Martyr attitude is proof it's working...

How exactly is he being a "martyr"? He never actually made a claim to that title, did he? He said he was fired for being gay -- which would make him a victim -- but he also said, wether he gets his job back or not, that he just wants some fucking closure. Calling him a pseudo-martyr implies that he's claimed virtual repairations, in the form of being rehired, so as to inspire and empower his fellow homosexuals. I really don't think he's tried to lay it on that thick.

And yes, I can agree that Kurt is a very special case, and most guys either ask for release b/c they feel they're being used poorly, i.e., Tomko and Kendrick, or get released for low drawing ability or a lack of improvement. But in a company that made Billy and Chuck -- the first uber-successful 'gay' tag team -- into ppl you'd boo because of their gayness -- and made Rico cartoonishly flamboyant, willing to mock-blow every man in every one of his face matches.... Well, I won't argue the anti-gay sentiment they protrude. And the need to know you got fired for your sexuality is the kinda thing that burns in the back of your brain.

I'm not agreeing with the tactics, but hell, Hollywood is made of 'drastic effort' moments. Perhaps that's the last ditch plan he had going for himself. The guy's clearly not mentally 100%, but drunks witness UFO sightings, and that doesn't mean they're lying.
