Nah it was actually pretty smart. Buy doing this (and more things like this in the future,) people might just start to get the feeling they HAVE to order all PPVs because they don't know what they will miss. Strange the WWE would steal some of ECW's old ideas after totally depriving the brand itself of any of them. But still, it's a great way to run your shows. Hype they key players, but reinforce that "anything can happen in the WWE."

But no, in no way is this morinic. They're laying down ground work for fututre PPV buys.

I guess after the disaster that was December to Dismember, WWE tried to redeem themselves with Armageddon, and I think they did. Inferno match was alright. The impromtu ladder match was really making up for the last ppv. One hell of a job by all men in the match. I actually called for a Kendrick Sliced Bread off the ladder, but he couldn't quite pull it off. And Mercury's ladder shot was really sick. I was at Buffalo Wild Wings watching, and almost everyone was yelling after that shot.

The rest of the ppv seemed pretty solid for a SD ppv. So I would say it was not a bad show at all.

They did a simliar thing at the No Mercy ppv with Benoit's suprise return. It's a good idea to try to get some unpredictability back, and in fact when I heard about the ladder match, I regretted not ordering the show.

You hit the nail on the head. The way the WWE did it, it was a gift for those in attendance, and those who ordered the event.

If they do surprise stuff at other PPVs, I can actually see myself ordering RAW events. Woah!

Doesn't it just seem odd that they didn't have the ladder match at the ECW ppv? Would've been more fitting.
