Pens waived Recchi. Recchi helped Crosby mature last year, but late last year and this year so far he's really lost his touch. Doesn't help that he's always a healthy scratch, but that's life in the NHL... Calgary is mildly interested in picking him up.

The Kings might trade Rob Blake, give him another chance on playing with a contender... back to the Avs???

Forsberg's ankle is doing well and he's once again considereing an NHL return. I don't see it hapening this year as he's had like 2 setbacks on his ankle already...

Hockey is all about confidence. If Recchi gets back his confidence, he could be an asset. Sure his talents have diminished, however I doubt he's lost it all. Atlanta has a lot of scoring talent, he'll help. Plus he'll add leadership. I like this move for him, I hope he rebounds.

He's lost most of it. The guy was getting premier minutes in Pittsburgh and couldn't produce worth a damn. His leadership is questionable, there's a lot of accusations of him being less than team oriented

You know what I'd REALLY like to see?

I'd like to see the Conferences set up in such a way, that it was similar to NFL Football and Major League Baseball. Geographic randomness (i.e. eastern and western teams get evenly divided into each conference).

HOWEVER - I'd like to see all the current Canadian teams play in the same conference.

In return - the other conference can have a large majority of the teams in the Northeastern part of the United States.

This Pens/Sabres outdoor game is amazing though. Huge packed crowd in Buffalo, snow, ice, cold temps..........how hockey should be played.
