Doesn't say much for Family Guy then.

American Dad has the edge because it sticks to the story, doesn't depend on cut-away gags, and has several basic but entertaining characters. Family Guy is just a mess.

I like the straight forward idiocy of Family Guy but I'll be the first to admit that American Dad has gotten better over time & is easily where the more thoughtful scripts go.


Case and point: The episode where Dad falls in love with My Morning Jacket...so beautiful and random.

How the hell did they sneak an Adult Swim commercial onto the FOX Broadcast?

EDIT: LOL at the Rock beating Peter and Lois' figures together to simulate them having sex because they can't show it on network tv due to the FCC..omg

That episode was atrocious. I don't see how you people can laugh at this. Like maybe a "haha that's cute" or a "hey I remember that" chuckle, but this is not fucking comedy.

Seriously. The show is pretty much consistantly terrible nowadays, only parts I found 'amusement' in were the 'can't wait to find out what sex with the rest of you is like' followed by the Meg's joke being shit on and Quagmire in the supermarket. With how bad Something Something Darkside was combined with the overall quality of the last few seasons, I think I'm about done with the show

This season has been pretty disappointing, but last night's episode was pretty great. No gags, no cut-a-ways, only Brian and and Stewie locked in a vault for 2 days. I really liked it.

I was thinking it was probably one of the best Family Guy eps in a long time and also how in the world they got away with it.

The Clip Show part was dumb though. I get that it was the 150th ep and all but it was unnecessary. The bit with Pearl was fun though considering it had the World Trade Center and Corey Haim in it.

American Dad is still chugging along BUT Reggie the Koala is pissing me off and I hope they get rid of it.

Agree about this season of Family Guy. I use to look forward to watching Family Guy every Sunday night but now..I don't care. i hope the show picks up.

Last night was just awful even by my low standards for the show. Really f'n enjoyed the bank vault episode ("Brian & Stewie") the week before, though. Already have the DVD of S,S,S,D.S., so I guess that just leaves next week until it picks up again in the fall.

I don't even watch Family Guy or American Dad on tv anymore. I just get it on Hulu during the week. I enjoy the shows, but not enough to set time aside to watch them.
