Cena's cash will be determined as premature. I can assure you, that his cash in will be considered invalid due to all of the interferences that occurred. It would really make the MITB concept meaningless if you win by DQ and waste a cash in like that. AJ as the GM...I can see her continuing to be involved in the WWE title picture while Punk is still champ and grant Cena another opportunity.

You decided this based on what? WWE hasn't ever been in this kind of situation before. Besides, I think this will be more of a tweener/tease heel for awhile as Punk can easily justify his actions and slowly descend into evil. I think Punk beating Rocky after snapping and beating the fuck out of him with a chair (ala Austin @ WM17) would be just as effective as being a babyface beating him clean especially since Austin/Punk is a good possibility at Mania and Punk going over would completely cement him as "the man". Kinda wish they booked this for Survivor Series instead of the Rumble, but I guess The Rock's schedule is what it is. Also, The Rock showed he can't work a "shoot feud" all that well, so a heel punk will give him more to work off of and Punk can do anything on the mic.

I do think that in his heart of hearts, deep down, Rock would rather lose to Punk than to John Cena.

Regardless of face/heel status, win/loss regarding Punk vs Rock, the match (or matches) and promos will be incredible.

What a great ending - finally something to freshen up the dead WWE landscape. Ever since the awesome Summer of Punk, what did we get? Face Punk playing SECOND FREAKING FIDDLE to Cena the whole damn time. Then he was in a ridiculous love triangle. Turning him heel just pumps me up that much for Rock vs. Punk, Punk being a mega heel, Rock being a bonafide face, and hopefully this is the end of the boring Show heel push. Until the Rock comes back in time for the Rumble though, I have a feeling Punk will be a cheered heel over Cena.

Adult wrestling fans (who aren't fans just because their kids are) put Punk over as the hottest thing, but the majority of Cena fans (who apparently are the majority of the ratings in their peak periods) don't see it that way. These are far more confusing times than the prime of Austin, the Rock, and Hogan, there is alot more diversity amongst fans, but Punk is still second as far as fan-base.

Do you really think Punk vs Jericho could have closed out WrestleMania last year and not left an anti-climactic WrestleMania ending? Really?

If not, that should tell you that Punk is not "over" like he needs to be. He's over compared to the current crop of wrestlers. Rock and, yes John Cena blow him out of the water as far as guys for a legit WrestleMania main event feel.

Perhaps this kind of heel turn is a new experiment that may make Punk more popular than Cena... or just make kids hate Punk more, I'm fine both ways.

Indeed. The Rock being awkward in promos and hammering the same insults for weeks will help build up to the big match to put Punk over alright...

Punk beating the fuck out of The Rock with a chair could easily have a huge impact and cement him. I hope they make Punk more of a Tweener, but I don't know if Punk will get cheered equal to The Rock the more they interact and stuff building to the Rumble even if he is a face.

Oh no. Rock sucks at something that's entertaining. Please mold all storylines for him and forget other guys' strengths.

P.S. The best thing that "worked" for Cena during that feud was when he called out Rock sucking at riffing and having to use notes. So yeah, it is useful.

The Austin beating the fuck out of Rock with a chair to win thing only worked because they both went in as a face and Austin turned heel and aligned with McMahon. That's what made it effective as a WrestleMania moment. There's nothing special about a heel beating a face by hitting them with a chair.

I know he already has some of Cena's fans on his side too but I think those fans who hate Rock for beating their hero would lead to even more. As for the adult wrestling crowd, I think it could be pretty split. In the end, I have a feeling if they went in a WrestleMania right now, I'm not so sure Rock fans would dominate the crowd. They'd still be a lot of people who watch wrestling regularly and Punk wouldn't be that guy a lot of people are already voicing being sick of like Cena was against Rock and Rock was against Hogan. I think people would wanna see that new face emerge.
