I dont know if anyone else recognized this, but when the Rock was getting beat up, someone snapped a picture and the light was bright and it was long enough for the Rock and whoever was taking him down to be in it. Might provide a clue if it was the shield or someone else.

And ratings plummet. WWE has proven that they can draw 4 million on RAW. But outside of Mania season they struggle to keep above 3.

Maybe use that time when there are more eyes on the product to also make a guy or two. It wouldn't hurt and makes perfect business sense.

There's nobody to make. Wrestlemania makes a TON of money.why wouldn't they focus on a proven commodity? Punk wasn't doing shit as champ. Rock v Cena 2 for the belt, Punk vs Taker , HHH vs Lesnar and Orton vs Sheamus are your big money matches. You HAVE to do it. Just like you said "what are you gonna do when they retire"? How about "how can we squeeze every ounce of revenue out of them before they retire""

I think the only feuds that have been truly settled at WrestleMania over the past few years are Undertaker/HBK/Triple H and HBK/Flair.

The last time a guy got "made" at WrestleMania was probably WrestleMania 22 where Mysterio won the World Title and could finally be put into the category of a World Champion. But I suppose he was "legendary" before that, so I don't know.

Torn about which side of the "ratings" fence I want go to. It makes sense for the WWE to put the belt on the guy who will probably walk around with it to movie premiers and talk shows and generate more buys than anyone else at this point. You've got to imagine they have crunched numbers and determined the best thing for business is the huge number of buys mania gets and that they need to max that out. #shortterm

On the other hand, how'd those cards look when Cena/Punk went down due to injuries? What did those injuries result in? Emergency pushes. That's a warning sign as to what main event level depth they currently have outside of the road to mania. #longterm

Either way, we have three weeks worth of tv and a ppv before the real build to mania to see what route they have chosen to take.

Crowd was awesome. And seemed like Rock once again got the crowd to be completely on his side by the end of the night when earlier in the match it looked like they were favouring Punk, or at least 50/50.

I don't really care too much about ratings (although obviously The Rock being champ is going to get more casual fans watching again), I just watch to enjoy it and be entertained and The Rock is the best entertainer in the business. I'm a big fan of Punk, he's great, probably the best all round guy they have full time, but The Rock is entertainment.

All the people crying about Punk losing his streak would've cried no matter when it ended. I'm glad it was ended by The Rock and not some other guy on the roster I don't enjoy as much.
