I am not too fired up about the Randy Moss deal, but we will see.

If he is a "cancer" I don't think he'll be setting the team back at all, they will just be losing a 4th rounder since he will get cut. I can take that gamble

It was a great deal for the Pats.. I don't like Moss at all, but as you said, if he doesn't work out all yall lose is a fourth round pick.. With the offseason yall've already had adding a good vet can't hurt..

No, i'm talking about disturbing the team enough to really effect how they do this upcoming season or next.

Dude, he played with a MVP canidate Pro bowl QB and he melted down. I dont even think Moss would respect Manning and Dungy. Guys like that dont change at all. Talk to me when he's taking plays off and pouting and not going over the middle. I cant wait for Bob Sanders to kill this dude. Its gunna happen.

Also, what he brings isn't just production (there's a report he's in his best shape ever and running a 4.29-40yds). Him and Stallworth along with Welker will make it difficult for teams to double team Watson who can be a monster of a pass catcher if he can start holding onto the ball more.

They will be paying Moss as much or probably more then what they had to pay Branch. They opted to pay a reciever with less production, more off and on field problems, whos older and doesnt fit the spread offense that you run. Over Branch, who had developed chemistry and trust with Brady, fit the system perfectly and never once gave any on or off field problems to New England.

Getting Moss is such a reach. I think it will backfire.

Also I don't get what Branch has to do with the Randy Moss deal. They traded Branch for a first round pick (Just saw today that Seattle traded Darell Jackson for a 4th rounder, Moss came to the Pats for a 4th rounder...looks like a 1st rounder for Branch is a pretty good deal for the Pats) Plus maybe the Patriots noticed they were really lacking at wideout this past season so they wanted to improve on it. Even if they still had Branch I would assume they would still go after Moss seeing how Moss is the 4th wideout they've snagged this offseason.

Just noticed Chargers got new uni's...

I dunno, I think it makes sense. You've got a logjam at DE as is...if Strahan or Osi goes down Tuck is the heir apparent (though I've heard he might potentially be in a deal to the Browns to get Shaffer to man LT this year). If that happens, Kiwi would go back to DE should an injury occur and another LB would be the starter.

The Chargers new unis are annoying. They said they wanted to go classic but they still have navy jerseys? I mean I like white helmets but you gotta rock the powder blue or don't change at all.

Why Moss? Why not Darrell Jackson? It was no secret Jackson was being traded. He's a far better reciever and has deep threat abilities, plays in a very similar system and is easily a #1 on 50% of the NFL's teams. He's younger. Yet they take Moss. Moss dont have " It " anymore. Atleast with Corey Dillon, he still was producing. Darrell Jackson would have been a far better trade.

Ok, let me try explaning this to you one last time. The Pats were willing to pay Branch, they were not willing to void the last year of his current contract which is something they never do, something that Brady understood, something that Seymore understood, something that has never changed with how they do business. The pats by far made the right move, especially where they got a #1 pick for him.

Moss is still productive and will be on the Pats.

Also, as for "paying him the same money". Did you see the deal Moss is signing? 1 year, 3 million with incentives to reach 5mil.

The more I hear form Moss the better I feel about him, he's here to win, he's talking the talk "I don't care how many balls I get" "I don't care about the money, I just want to win a ring" etc... etc... Now, does he "walk the walk, all season we shall see.

The Patriots are how the 49'ers were in the 80's. Vets took pay cuts to go play for the 49'ers because they had great ownership, great coaches and the won championships.

Let's remember, this Pats team was 1 or 2 plays from going back to the super bowl, and all they have done this off-season is gotten better.

Thomas, Stallworth, Moss all took less money to play here then they could have gotten elsewhere.

I'm not saying the Pats will win the superbowl, every good team is 1 or 2 key injuries from an 8-8 season.

How does everyone feel about their teams draft?

I think the Giants did quietly ok. Didn't really move around but addressed some key positions. I think we had a solid first 2 picks. I honestly don't know much about our lower picks and from what I've read our 3rd pick was a bit of a stretch but who knows.

I'm optimistic about this coming year, we have new coordinators in place so there really isn't any excuses to be had now.

I really like the Zack Deossie pick, I was hoping the pats would get him. He's not the biggest player, but great speed and very smart.

I'd think he'll develope into a ted bruschi type.

I think the Rams had a way good draft. Carriker is awesome, Brian Leonard is a beast, Wade is fast as hell, Clifton Ryan will need some work, but he will kick all sorts of ass.

Pretty crazy that DeOssie got drafted, he lives (well I guess lived now) with a kid I played high school ball with down at Brown

Yeah Merriweather was in the brawl, and did get in trouble for having a gun or something. That pick still kind of surprises me, I'm not that surprised about the Randy Moss thing though. 4th round pick and only paying him a couple mil, I dunno its a risk but if he has anywhere close to what he used to be its gonna be sick. Even if if he isn't, they've still made huge upgrades to the receiver core. Really looking forward to this season

Doesn't really seem like much of a comparison to me. Brady is the only one who would fit in the upper echelon with most of Miami's players. And you can talk about Miami's rep a lot and it's true they have a lot of problem players but it's not fair to bring that up all the time while ignoring guys like Edge, Wayne, Vilma, etc. who have been model citizens in the NFL and guys kids could look up to.
