The sad thing is, a lot of my friends have said the SAME thing. For those who don't feel like looking at the link...they think the Yanks could maintain the same roster as is throughout the season and just win the WS based on it being the last year at the Stadium. I believe in karma and all...but goddamn.

The Yanks are playing damn good ball right now, but they can't kid themselves into thinking the offense is gonna suddenly click and that Ponson and Rasner are gonna be enough...they need to make a move, not something huge, but something to bolster the team.
Being a Mets fan, I feel the same way about the Mets' current hot streak...as great as guys like Easley and Tatis are playing, there's simply no way it's gonna last. I really want them to get Nady or something. I love that guy.

The Yanks needed Wang this year. if he can somehow rebound quicker, and be ready for the playoffs, then its fucking on.

But I agree, they just need to nab a solid 3 or 4 for the playoff rotation. I will take Pettite/Muss/Joba/Pickup as the 4 man group based on experience and Joba's studliness.


Offensively, they are slumping this year, so they dont need to make a move, they need to stop fucking up.

Jeter is an All Star
Abreu is a great producer
A Rod is fucking amazing as always
Giambi provides solid power, OBP and runs, wears out pitchers, but low BA
Matsui should be back before too long and he is a great hitter
Cano is his usual 2nd half stud
Melky is the yanks Eckstein. Always gets it done with no flashy numbers.
Posada is still a solid hitter
Sexson/Molina are a good bench combo (Sexson is hitting like 320 this year against lefties, so he has a spot starter/Pinch Hitter use)

The Yanks have as good and offense as anyone, they just need to all click at once like they always do the 2nd half.

Now, we need to figure out who the pitcher is. I imagine we will rent Burnett since he is going to opt out, and they will overpay.

I wouldnt mind seeing a guy like Aaron Cook as our 4th starter.

I'm not expecting Matsui or Posada back this year.

The Yankees definitely should make a couple little moves and suprisingly it doesn't have to be with the bullpen. The pen has been really good so far and the final piece is getting rid of Hawkins and bringing Bruney up.

Bah, fuck it. I need to pick a secondary team to follow. I don't care that the Mets are only gonna be 1 game back...I don't trust this bullpen AT ALL. Still reeling from last night's loss...that might have been the most gutting loss for me since Game 7 of the 2006 NLCS. Sure last September was beyond depressing but that happened like every day so I got used to it.

I REALLY want the Mets to swing a deal for Nady and Marte now, but I doubt it'll happen because the Pirates want 2 prospects for each and as it is, all of the Mets' prospects are in AA.

Could be finalized soon...would seem like ass rape and I don't know why the fuck the Mariners would want Igawa...but Washburn is due $10.35M next year and Vidro has a vesting option that vests at either 400 or 450 ABs (which it probably won't vest since Vidro would barely play)

Washburn is 4-9 with a 4.75 ERA at the moment. 5th in the league for losses but got a complete game under his belt.

Someone give me some insight on this. I'm all for unloading Igawa, but something don't feel right.

Washburn used to be a borderline number 2.

He still can have flashes, and maybe with the yanks hewill ignite and have a few good games. But honestly, I pray Wang can make it back for the playoffs. Washburn just might help us get there though.

Vidro will be a nice bat off the bench.

It wasn't anything special. Basically Moyer was at bat and he lost control of it and the bat flew. Delgado was closest to it so he picked it up and chucked it back.....not AT Moyer.....he just lobbed it in his general direction to speed things up. Delgado laughed it off, Moyer looked pissed though.

Then later on when Delgado came to the plate Moyer threw somewhat inside...then the next pitch Delgado tried to bunt and that pissed Moyer off even more for some reason.
