360 only, it's simply the most used console.

Pre and main season carry on with or without played games, players who miss their games gain no points. Players who would have otherwise played gain half of the most points they could have made (2 in preseason, 4 in main season).

Extending the invitation to my Apartment 25 crew, which means my brother W1ckedBis0n, Deadwings, and possibly others from my IRL circle. A special invitation will be offered to my bud xJayx, the guy who records matches. May make a YouTbe vid for the non-TPWW announcement. You may suggest a few of your buds as well, I met some cool guys from your corners that could make for cool participants.

The extra guys joining won't be a problem, it should still be fairly close nit if you all meet the participants beforehand. In most cases it already happened. My brother actually wanted to join in the past SF4 tournies but I told him it was a 'TPWW thing'. None of that shit now.

As a point of comparison for those who played me, my brother beats the shit out of me in this game. Not even with keepaway or anything like that.

I don't know how good your IRL friends are, but the other group I play SSF4 with is on a different level than anyone I've played on TPWW.

Drakul just had an unbelieveable win against my Dark Phoenix with a pixel of health left. I would love to replay that because I don't know how that happened.

Just haven't had the time to touch it at all. And I got really depressed this morning watching the #5 worldwide ranked guy be cheap as fuck with Sentinel and Doom assist on J.TV. Was facing scrubs most anyway; certainly wasn't skilled at all. Wouldn't get far at EVO with that shit, but otherwise he'd probably do just fine.

Use her 'above the head' teleport and then her down+(H) dive attack. It bounces and you can have your way from there. Her floor trap OTGs so that's a good follow up to her regular air combo. And you probably already know about her kick-ass low slide.

This game offers more ways to deal with spamming than most fighting games, but they're still annoying and tough to deal with. There will always be those kind of guys.

Played some guy the other night who was using Tasky, Iron Man, and I think either Ryu or Akuma. Nothing but projectiles from all 3. I really find it harder to deal with in this game than any fighter previous, especially with characters like Taskmaster, who have 3 different angles of them.

Honestly, more I play this online, the more I dislike it.

It will change as I get better, I'm sure. It's a different fighter than I'm used to. I never really logged any serious time with MVC2, and seemingly everyone online is an old hand at it. I'm used to slower paced fighter.

I will say, that it feels like I'm encountering a lot cheaper tactics with this game than say, Street Fighter. Sent is cheap as fuck. Dante feels like it too, although not as bad. And I really hate the assist system. You can say the game rewards creativity, but it also rewards memorizing long button strings and just using those. And I've never been good at that.

It seems you need to get used to the assist system for extra defense and giving you openings. Who are you playing with now?

'pool, Felicia, and Chun Li. Spencer, She-Hulk, and Cap are my B team at the moment, haven't used them much yet.

I understand I need to properly use assists. I just resent the whole system. I think it adds an unnecessary layer of complication.

Trust me, if it's something you just don't vibe with it's better to let it go then force yourself to get used to something you don't like. One day (the last day) I played Black Ops I just felt like I was clowning myself playing a game I always left with more complaints than having a good time. Never believe you have to play something because it's the 'hot thing'. I did that with Modern Warfare 2 to prove a few points but I just didn't have the patience for Black Ops.

Having said that, and expecting you to stay on MvC3 for the time being, here's what I know about your main team:

- If that's the order you pick them (the order indeed matters), I think Chun's good as the third teammate. He Lightning Legs assist is seriously too good and can trap opponents for a while. If she's the last survivor and has X-Factor she's pretty much scary fast. Her Lighting Legs hyper is also good since it leads to more combos (it launches). However, and this is something I still deal with, you're gonna have to space out your combo input if you don't wanna activate Lightning Legs every second!

- Deadpool has some good options to play keepaway. His grenades are good for keeping people busy and his gun super punishes bad assists well. Even if you just random it, you'd be surprised - you have little to lose and it does decent chip damage. Up close he as that flip kick normal that breaks low guard (overheads are very nice). His katana-rama is something I rarely see people do, but they should use it! The Chimichanga follow-up is very good for extending combos you probably didn't deserve! He also has a sliding low, I can't say enough why that's the best thing ever.

- Felicia can cross-up with (L)+(S) and forward. If you use an assist to scare people into blocking you could cross them up real nasty. She has a command grab with good range, AND it gives you follow-up chance. Her 3+(M) hits OTG, you just go and experiment with that.

I'm with Blitz. I much prefer the more methodical style of SF4 and a lot of this game just feels like fan service, which was great for 16 year old me when 2 came out but I just feel without recognisable characters, this game would pretty much fall on it's face on it's own merits.

I'm pretty much using Chun exactly as you suggest. She's my anchor, and I've taken down 2 characters with just her left thanks to X Factor. Lightning Legs can be a pain in terms of interrupting combos, but in the air I'm getting more consistent with hitting lightning legs, then Tenshokyaku, then another lighting legs.

I tend to play keep away with 'pool. Pineapples and bolos cross the screen, Quick Work if I wanna get in close. Still trying to figure the hit box on Katanarama. It never seems to hit for me. And I dearly, dearly wish his "kunai" moves had different inputs from Trigger Happy.

Felicia has great rush down, and a couple of her specials are godly for getting past projectile spam. But I'm still working on her. For whatever reason, I keep getting fucked up inputs where I trigger her U2 (where the stupid helper cat comes out) instead of her U1 slash frenzy.

I just started working with She Hulk (who I picked up for her dizzy grab) and Cap (on the merits of Charging Star beating a bunch of shit out), but I might get rid of Spencer. I like his capabilities, but I just don't seem to be meshing with him right now.

Felicia's helper super is her best one! Crazy lockdown especially with Chun's Lightning Legs assist.

She-Hulk has the indisputably best low slide in the game. Wacky range and I think it can cancel to both her special dash and special wall dive for free. Her standing clothesline definitely leads to those special movements and I almost added her to my roster for that shit. Her normal strikes also hurt like hell. She moves like El Fuerte and hits (almost) like Hulk.

lol I know as soon as some time passed ppl'd start feelin the same way I do. It's cool seein all the characters/quotes/endings/hypers/etc, together but the fighting system is just uber-tedious after a while.

To be fair, I can't do any of that, and I can hold my own in Street Fighter just fine.

I don't doubt that MVC3 will become the high level fighter of choice, though.

I've played online twice and gotten my ass beat . Too easy in fact, I couldn't take out even one of their fighters. Right now im just passing arcade mode on easy to unlock the character backrounds n such. After that maybe just have it around for when friends come over or something

That will probably be what I do as well. I am invested enough in sf4, where I don't feel like getting serious about another fighter. Will probably only face funky and chizniz online, as I think they have similar feelings on it. The rest of you are likely way out of my league.

When you say charge characters you mean characters with good normals and high priority specials, right? That's usually the mark of a charge character, and MvC3 has a few of them (except without the charge mechanic, which is good).

Interestingly, Hulk and Felicia both have one charge move. They're 'waves' that are more similar to SNK's projectile philosophy than Capcom (you may or may not have heard the term 'spark' to describe SNK's Iori and Kyo projectiles). Dante also has a wave called Drive that also travels along the ground. Waves tend to be easy jump, but Hulk and Felicia's wave projectiles are damn good.

Figgy, I'm confidant you can grasp this game. It's your option, though, and I won't worry myself over what other people wanna buy/play.
