Don't let David Ross fool you. He's not a starter. As a spot starter for the Reds in 07 his OPS was .932. The next season he was the starter out of spring training and his OPS that year was .670

Let's ignore the blown call and realize what's actually happened here. This is the third "perfect" game in MLB this year, and this one was less than a week separated from the last one. What is going on with the pitching this year? All of a sudden we've had a no-hitter, 2 perfect games, 1 game that should be a perfect game, and several near no-hitters.

As of today
20 NL starters have ERAs less than 3.00
19 NL starters have WHIPs less than 1.20
20 AL starters have ERA less than 3.50 and 9 of them under 3.00
17 AL starters have WHIPs less than 1.20

There are obviously more stats we can look at, but I don't think it's entire poor hitting because the lists are mostly comprised of aces and other very pitchers with the exception of Livan Hernandez who should fall off the face of the earth soon. Just makes you wonder how pitching so dominant this year.

You know it's sad because I feel that we have handled the situation well. Pisses me off that some Tigers fans have acted this way. We all have a right to be pissed off.

With that said, I no longer blame Jim Joyce. He's human, he made a mistake, he admitted to it, let's move on.

I'm fucking pissed with Selig though. Has a chance to rectify it and doesn't. Hope whoever the new commissioner is takes the hit away when he gets in office and gives Galaragga his perfect game

He should put Pete Rose on the HOF ballot as soon as possible, and do something of merit.

Its only fair..this was a meaningless regular season game..that was the ALCS.

This could actually do wonders for Galarraga's career. He's getting a ton of publicity, he's going to have sympathetic strike zones for at least the rest of this season, and he's got some pretty powerful motivation to make him work harder.
Plus we'll be talking about this for a lot longer than if there was no controversy. Dallas Braden has already faded back into obscurity. But this is gonna last. And that will only be good for him.

Some gayass minor leaguer for the Nationals barrel-rolled into Daniel Murphy's plant leg during yesterday's AAA game. Torn MCL, out 4-6 months. He had sprained that same MCL near the end of spring and had only just started playing in games again. With Ike Davis now entrenched at 1B, Murph was going to be playing 1B, 2B, 3B, and LF and try to be a utility guy in the big leagues.

Really sucks. Hope he's back to full speed for ST in 2011. The Syracuse manager sat the player that dove into him for today's game cause he knew he would be plunked.

I'm just glad that Joyce is not to blame anymore. The guy was a complete wreck. I feel very bad for Joyce. He owned up to his mistake he was truly sorry about it. Bud had the power to change this mess but Selig did nothing. Fuck You Bud Selig.

Not surprised at Bud Selig doing nothing even though the play after the mess up ended as an out so even with the blown call, the game wouldn't have been affected if he reversed the blown call.
