VEL i didnt reealise that he was sitting i the press box. I figured this happened on the sideline. In that case. I wouldnt be surprised if he said it. I also wouldnt be suprised if those words were fabricated by that specific writer. It wouldnt be the first time either happend .

I wasnt there. It wasnt on tv and its strickly hear say from an opposing rivals columnist. Not really note worthy at all.

Also, this whole "rivals columnist" thing, this isn't high school, these guys are pro's and they care about stories, not teams and if it had been made up, there would be a bunch of people coming out against it. So, far, haven't heard anyone deny it.

Again, personally, I don't really care, but does give me another reason not to like him, which is good because I like most the colts players and not having someone to dislike doesn't help a rivalry

I just find it funny when given the source you go from "fine him" to "Not really note worthy at all."

I dont care if he said it or not. Is it wrong? Probably. Is it the first time a general manager or owner type has cheered for his team and maybe said something tasteless? Probably not. Has alot worse things happen in the NFL that could be written about. Definetly.

Two things.

1) Your source means dick . Sure its a source, but just because he's a source doesnt mean he's right. Sure you will side with him because this source is from New England.

2) CHeering free zone? Thats the dumbest thing i've heard. I'm not sure of the circumstances, but why would Polian be sitting in there in the first place? By choice or was that the best seat New England could offer him? Reguardless its pretty niave to believe that the president of the Colts would not cheer his team after all the trouble the Colts had with the Patriots.

As for the "cheering free zone", I have no clue why Polian was there, however if you ask any reporters the press box's at any sporting event are considered to be "fan free" zones, it's reporters trying to do their job, they're not there as fans, they're there as reporters. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but it's considere a "neutral area".

Whatever, I don't think it's a huge deal, I actually said I didn't think he deserved a fine, I just find it funny that when you didn't think I had a source you said

It's also easy to say it was a muttered quote and then when its denied ( which i doubt Polian even cares or has even heard about this worthless source ) the source can easly said that he misheard him.

I knew what you meant, but I figured if you read about the "press box" you would have read the rest of the post and know what we were talking about.

If you had, you'd see where a reporter in the press box said something to him and he responded, hence putting him in the Press box, not near by.

Why was he there? Dunno, I would assume with Gillete being one of the newer stadiums they'd have a box for the visiting team.

Just a couple of dumb fans , but still the reporter was pretty irresponsible. Iverson said nothing of the sort. Thats what reporters and coumnist do. I credit him making them wear suits. Suits make them team... that and the way the investigation is going, a few of them may have to get used to dress codes (orange jump suits).

My favorite was "players are now required to be ontime to team meetings".

Tice was never ready for this job, plain and simple... he was "right place, right time" and once the new owner gets his "feet wet" he'll fire Tice and hire someone. Honestly, I would have already done it, but I can understand waiting until the seasons over.

Tice was the bottom-dollar bandaid for Red McCombs. He wanted an excuse to fire Denny... you can say that Denny and Moss were headaches, but they made MN football fun to watch. Denny with Culpepper the last three years would have at least made the playoffs. esp. with Moss. He wouldn't have had the "commitment to run," and want so desperately to play defense that when the defense buckles, the offense doesn't know what to do. COME ON.

But then, Tice is the lowest possible skill level you can put at head coach. He knows enough to keep the team from falling apart on a superficial level, but while he's trying to make the Vikings look like a real, competitive team, they're falling apart from the inside because the players know they're better than they are playing. They are trying to buy into Tice's philosophy, but are realizing that it doesn't work. So Winfield calls Tice out, gets his way, SURPRISE, defense plays its best all year.
Tice is a horrible coach, but McCombs gutted the front office from top to bottom. An offensive line coach is our head coach. An offensive line coach is our offensive coordinator. He eliminated the security director position (which would have prevented love boat), and many others to save money... he was hoping that he could move the Vikings, but Tags wasn't too keen on the idea.

Tice should still be O-Line coach. He needs to go back to what he knows: Killing fat black men.

Oh and you saw Brady at dinner.... WITH HIS D-LINEMAN!!?!?!?!?

So, last night I'm at a restaraunt, and I notice at the table accross 2 black guys, 1 small and one really big. The big guy looks familiar and I couldn't think of who it was... realsed after a few mins it was Richard Seymore and just as a I realise this, Brady sits down with them.

It was a nice restaraunt so people left them alone, I did see one women stop on her way out and say something....

I dunno, I feel sorry for athletes and famous people... It's a trade off I guess, but imagine not being able to do anything in public, ever, w/o either security or someone bugging you...

Shit, I'd take Ty Willingham. He knows the system, he's been here. He's a stand-up guy, not a whiner. Weis is locked in long-term. Walsh, even if you were serious, would take a couple years like Gibbs in Washington and we have the talent to win now, but in two years we'll probably be capped to death.

I think Martz is the best offensive mind in the league, but a bottom-five coach. I bet that if Martz ran the ball more, Warner would still be a Pro Bowler, instead of a washed-up rattled, frail old man with turf burns on his ass.

I'd like Billick, too. He's a hardheaded egomaniac, and with a QB better than Boller at the helm... assuming Pep can hurry back... I think Billick will dominate. Especially if he works on the offensive side.

And at this moment, I would seriously consider Denny Green. I think they're allowing him to rebuild in AZ, which is cool, but we've seen where it's gotten all the previous AZ coaches...

I want someone with experience, basically. Someone who knows the meaning of the word "gameplan." And someone who doesn't make excuses and/or whine, cry, or ask his players if they want to fight him.

It was said that Denny cowtoed too much to the stars... resulting in prima donnas like robert smith, cris carter, randy moss, john randle, todd steussie and the like. It was said that Tice would bring the franchise back to respectability. He has failed in that, hardcore. The team is even worse now than under Green, and it is not even in the least bit competitive.

At least when Green made his players whiney prima donnas, they still produced and stayed out of prison. Because he kept them happy.

Somehow I think we're talking about different things.

A press box at most stadiums is "seperate" hence being the "press box", what would it be combined with and how would the Press having their own area create "more work".
