When they win the Super Bowl this season, it'll be even better than last year. Everyone's written them off already, but I feel the defense will be much better and the offense without Cam Cameron for the full season can be as good as it was down the stretch last year without him as well even without Boldin.

More of a real homer since Baltimore is closer to me than Washington though now the Redskins play in MD too and its about the same distance to Fed Ex Field as it is to M&T.

I wonder if they got pre-orders ready for Montee Ball Broncos jerseys yet?

Worse case scenario: I can take my old Tatum Bell jersey, take out the E and put in an A and probably won't make a difference.

Just love how the Broncos look in all of this. Trade the guy when his value couldn't have been higher despite all the meatballs clamoring to keep him due to "divine intervention." Denver might be my favorite football team outside of Chicago just for this.

I feel bad for Tim Tebow. While I'm sure he brought some of this on himself by how he chooses to portray himself to the media, I think he deserves better. He's not a remarkably great football player, but I still had fun watching him in the pros.

Mostly brought it on himself when he picked the Jets for the extra money, being in a big market city, and knowing it was most likely he'd just be a backup QB than the Jags who offered a good chance at being the starter but less money.

Apparently there were a few teams interested in making a trade for him on draft day but dropped out because Tebow didn't want to switch to the TE spot (none offered a QB spot).

The Jets didn't even let him be a backup QB (they pretty much did their best to make sure he didn't hit the field). I don't think he would have signed with NY if he knew they would relegate him to special teams and gadget plays. I'm not going to deny that some of his predicament is his fault, but I think the media beat the fuck out of his career. In a way, I'm glad he got some money while he could, because I don't know what he does from here. ESPN?

I believe he knew going into the first year that the Jets only wanted to use him for special plays while he learned their system and improved his QB skills.

Do agree on the Jets being really stubborn with Tebow and he'd probably wouldn't have signed if he knew they had no real intentions of ever using him.

Tebow is just a self-promoter. No different or any less annoying that Chad Johnson. He's Justin Bieber in a jockstrap and pads.

Bottomline - take out all the god bothering and hype and he'd never have lasted this long in the league based on his talent and ability.

The reason why Denver were 8-5 with him starting was because they are a good team with a good D and a good kicker. It wasn't god, or Tebow's will to win that got them that record it was that he was a below average player surrounded by good players. If they'd left Kyle Orton in or Quinn they'd have had similar results.

I am pretty sure that some team (Jacksonville) will swallow the hype and welcome the circus that Tebow brings.

Nope. He had his chance and chose New York and Caldwell wants no part of that media circus. He wants to move forward, not backwards.

Besides, we have Jordan Rodgers now, so fuck Tebow.

Again, I feel stupid trying to defend Tebow, but I think his self-promotion is only what sparked the media on him initially, and I think his coverage has gone past anything he wanted from it. I think he could actually produce in the league given the opportunity. And while I will admit he was well below average in Denver, he still led the offense and played some part in getting that team to the playoffs and winning a game. I admire his enthusiasm I guess, as naive as it may be most of the time.

The thing is - he is portrayed as a difference maker when he isn't.

A basic compare and contrast - the Vikings would not have made the playoffs without Adrian Peterson last year. Denver would have (should have reached the playoffs with that squad). I don't buy into the narrative constructed by his mates in the media that if it weren't for Tebow and god, then Denver would have had a losing record.

There are lots of guys who come in and do a good job for a short while and then the league figures them out.

The Cowboys are exactly the kind of team that might sign him.

I certainly don't think Tebow was the only reason they made the playoffs, but his team sure did their best to rally around him, bad play and all, and he ended up partly responsible for some of that team's success. Sure, it was a super small sample size, but I just don't think he's been given much opportunity to show himself capable after the fact. Yes, his mechanics suck, and he has only succeeded in an offense that only works at the collegiate level, but I would still like to see one team try to fit him somewhere; if Tebow doesn't show some kind of difference in his team past his ridiculously optimistic attitude, then I will have no problem ever hearing from him again.

Teams rally around lots of players, and its hard to tell because there was certainly some stuff coming out last season from Denver players complaining about Tebow making everything about himself.

He's had his chance. There are tons of players who 'if they would build an offense around him' you could say that about Pryor, Webb, Pat White.

He simply isn't a good enough player to hold down a roster spot. If it weren't for the fact that so many people have bought into his self-promotion then his NFL career wouldn't have even lasted this long.

As a UGA graduate, I don't think I ever expected to side with Tim Tebow in an argument, but I want to give him some benefit of the doubt...even if I don't agree with his self-promotion and his public display of affection with bible verses.

on the NBC Sunday Night Football Facebook comments on the Tebow story, some people are wanting the Cowboys to pick him up. I await James Steele's take on this.

Fuck that. He shouldn't be given a chance. He needs to earn it by learning how to actually play his position at level worthy of being paid to do it professionally.

I concur. The other issue is that teams HAVE expressed interest in Tebow if he'd switch to tight end, but he's being an uppity bitch about it. If he isn't signed and ends up out of the NFL it's his own fucking fault. So sick of the Tebow shit. Fuck him.

Unless he wants to play for free pre-game meals, he isn't worth signing for the few crapshoot gimmick plays you can plug him in for once in a great while. He's abysmal.

I don't feel like he's been given a big enough chance, personally. I will say that he should have learned how to fix his mechanics by now, and that is a valid reason for being relegated to the bench, but I'm not sure if the Jets and Tebow were on the same page about what his purpose was on that team. The Jets should have let him play last year to attempt to increase his value as trade bait if they didn't see a future with him. I just don't understand why you sign a guy, sit him on the bench, and skip him over when your starting QB gets benched for sucking...unless it was just for media attention.

That's two different things really.

Tebow is probably one of the least talented QBs in the league - I'd suggest that there are at least 20 QBs who don't have jobs at the moment who are more worthy of a roster position than him.

He has his roster spot because of his name/marketing not his skills.

The Jets are a circus and are a badly run team. So of course they are going to trade for a guy they have no use for. Just like they are going to pick guys like Gholston etc. Basically Geno Smith might have succeeded if he were playing for someone other than the Jets but signing for that organization. His career is fucked before it already began.

It isn't the Jets' job to get him on the field. It is his job to compete and earn the starting spot. I guarantee you they would have played him in 2012 if they thought he could help them win more games.

I just think he deserves a shot on a less whack-job team as a backup QB (I think there are plenty of bad backup QBs in the league) or a change-of-pace QB ala Brad Smith. It's not a popular opinion, but I want to give him the benefit of the doubt for one more try.

Every backup QB in the league is better than Tim Tebow.
