I have been reading this thread since about page 15. I want to get this game, but I don't know, $50 is kind of dicey with me, and Halo 2 is coming out.

So I have to ask, I love the GTA series, however, will it be worth it for me to buy it when Halo 2 comes out the 9th of November? For people who will play both games do you think Halo 2 will take away playing time from GTA too much?

I am on the OG Loc mission, mad pissing me off.

I can keep up with him, but then when you get to all those guys they just kill me mad easy.

Like the first time I was a point blank shooting them all while on the bike, and nothing happened.

Then I ran away with a tiny bit of health left, and went into the pizza parlor, and failed the mission.

You have to go talk to the pool shark next to it. He lets you bet against him or if you want to play two player. It's like that in every bar, not just the Tin Bottle.

Is there a way, other than just driving for long periods of time, to get your driving and bike skills increased? Mine are still unbelievably low.

edit: and is there any reason I need them higher? I'm a pretty good driver as it is, does having the skills maxed add any new abilities or anything?

Man, this is pretty tough, way more than 3 or Vice City

Am currently up to the first Donut mission, done all of the Grove missions so far. Struggled on some of them

Ant, when the guy gets off the bike try parking on the other side of the road, get off the bike and then just target him, once he's dead the mission's as good as done the others won't matter.

I think I read somewhere that aside from the 100 tags there's two lots of 50 other collectibles somewhere in the game, not sure what they are though

And man alive this game is fucking huge. I keep getting lost in Los Santos

No, it burns fat and increases stamina.

I think the way to build up your bike skills is just to stay on it for as long as possible without crashing into anything, or going at high speeds without crashing. That seems to be when it goes up for me

Also, I should've mentioned, even though the soundtrack is a little lacking compared to Vice City, I love that they have Plush and Deep Cover on there, two of my favourite songs ever

I wanna buy some houses but i'm struggling to get cash really, won like $2000 at pool. :[

I tried the second Smoke mission and the guy drove away when I was about to kill him twice, bastard.

I hate when you are busy doing something, and rival gangs come up to you and get in your face.

I lost all my money at pool But then I cracked the guy over the head with the cue and got it all back, so

lol YES also just found a house in Los Flores with like $1300 worth of stuff to steal. Got the last bit out with 3 seconds left Probably better in the game but for a first go not bad at all

I got the game about 3 hours ago, pretty hot, where are the vans used for robbing houses? I have been looking around all of LS but cannot find any, I only have 50 bucks

The docks are a good place to look


In an unrelated GTA story: I was driving a train real fast and it derailed and flew off a cliff into some water out by the forest.Just as I began swimming to land (the long way) It turned to night and began thunder,lightning and raining (The effects are cool) and I swam to a little deserted harbour walkway thing and it had an old wheelchair made out of wood and patches.It began getting foggy to and I swear I heard a chainsaw.It was really freaky! Even though its dumb to find a game freaky with a few exceptions.Its just with the thunder,lightning,rain and fog.Being stuck in the middle of nowhere.Just finding an empty wheel chair facing out into the water and hearing a chainsaw was kinda freaky.I wouldnt have thought much of the noises if I hadn't read about an unkillable guy with a chainsaw in the woods just a few pages back.The only cool thing that happened on halloween this year.
Its probably going to be one of my fav personal gaming moments

For some reason, a Taxi was diagonally facing downwards and 75% buried in the road and flying forward, I stopped it and stole it, and couldn't move anywhere, so I got out and fell off the freeway and landed mad far below on the pavement

Face the entrance of the Ganton Gym [the red dumbbell on your map]. Look to the right. Run in between those two green apartment buildings. Run down into the alley between them a little bit and you should see it.
