In watching the G1 on TV I really wish the Women of Honor match wasn't here as well as the Street Fight Open which would've been so much better with Suzuki just squashing Bully Ray while Juice comes out after with a limp to get a shot in only to get choked out by Suzuki starting a program together.

Yeah it seems clear Bully and Suzuki trading barbs on Twitter was them trying to set up the Street Fight but brass decided it was more important for Flip and Juice to get the moment instead.
I mean I get it. Flip's a full-time ROH guy and Juice works there a lot more often than Suzuki. But still. |

I knew if Suzuki wasn't fighting Bully, he had to be starting the Honor Rumble so he can get his full entrance. You can't deny that crowd KAZE NI NARE

They could've done exactly what I said and have Flip and Suzuki leave while Bully hands outside and gets into it with Ezno and Cass and Flip comes back and all the stable mates come out and bla bla bla... I know it's woulda coulda shoulda but the weak moments as stated by everyone were obviously ROH moments.

Reading some conflicting reports about the ending of the main event. Reminds me of that weird Owens Styles ending. While the match was good, the ending felt anticlimactic. Not worthy of a Mania ending.

The more I think about it, Joe vs. Rey was one of the best matches on Mania. Seriously, Joe comes in, minus the pageantry. Just pissed off with a chip on his shoulder. The match goes the way it does, Rey makes one small mistake, Joe chokes him out, and looks vicious. Stands over him like a Stanley Kubrick villain, and leaves like he owned the place. Joe has this aura that no one else has in WWE.
If Strowman carried himself with half the intensity that Joe does, he'd be their guy. |

For those comparing it to the G1 Supercard, as #1-wwf-fan pointed out, it was about an hour/hour-and-a-half shorter. That’s up to half-a-good-Mania. Also, it’s not always about how long a show actually is; sometimes it is about how long it feels. If G1 worked, it worked. That could just be because it was a better show, was structured to build better, or that Mania just wasn’t there. Fans are also just generally exposed more to WWE. If you’re going to eat ice-cream for 6+ hours, you might prefer rum ‘n’ raisin as opposed to vanilla. The rum might get you a little drunk, at least.

I fell asleep during the beginning of Triple H and Batista and then called it a night. Not because I was bored. I was very much enjoying the show. But it was just too much.

I wonder if the logistics complaints will stop WWE from returning to MetLife for a while...
Vegas and LA stadiums both looming...Levi's probably 'itching' to host again... |

Watched most of mania. So here's my review of what I bothered to sit thru.
Brock v Rollins Was surprised it open but didn't mind it. The crowd was pumped right from the start, and were into Seth. I loved the match as a whole. And even tho it wasn't clean, Rollins did win decisively. No run ins. No distractions or other shenanigans. No 50 F5s. Obvs the low blow isn't clean but it was good enough. Aj v Orton Thought this was pretty good. Orton has this deliberate pace that sometimes works really well but can also be a momentum killer. It didn't drag tho and they had pretty good chemistry. Orton sells so well. Thought this might win match of the night going on. It didn't but it's still one of the better Randy Orton matches. Kofi v Bryan Match of the night. Crowd was huge into Kofi from the onset. The way the match was structured and paced was perfect. Loved all the little counters and the ending was perfect. Even tho I was for Bryan retaining, Kofi getting his moment was great and now that crowd reaction gets to live forever. Angle v Corbin Blah. What a shit way to send off one of the best stars ever. Kurt can't really go at all, and Corbin wasn't gonna pull a good match out of him. Shame we didn't get Cena. The Elias/Cena skit was great. Cena coming out in the old gimmick and getting the entire arena to chant his name was awesome. Becky v Charlotte v Ronda This was actually a really good match. Paced really well and some really good spots. The shame is that the crowd seemed to want to be into it, but were burnt the fuck out. The finish was also odd. I don't mind Becky winning on a roll up at all. I think they could've drug it out longer before hand tho. Ronda was booked to be unstoppable. Great. Take out Charlotte, then have Ronda beat down Becky but be unable to pin or submit her, her frustrated and Becky takes advantage and wins with the same finish. What I decide to sit thru was really good. But I think I left out about half the show if not more, and didn't bother looking at the pre show. Shit is just too long. Crowd gets burned out and the show itself is bloated. The matches don't mean as much when everyone and their brother is wrestling on the show. |

Now that I think about it, WrestleMania in Los Angeles one day is likely to be a logistics nightmare too.
The new NFL Stadium is nowhere near Staples Center and LA is pretty de-centralized and spread out in general. |

Some stats about Kofi Kingston's win last night.
1-First ever WWE Champion born in Africa(Kumasi, Ashanti, Ghana to be specific). 2-First ever WWE Champion who is a full-blood African-American(no racist, just simple statement of fact). 3-The 51st all-time possessor of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. 4-Became the 30th Triple Crown Winner 5-Became the 20th overall Grand Slam Winner under either format. Also, The New Day's role in WWE history has now been elevated to one that has changed something about the wrestling world(kind of like groups such as The Four Horsemen, the new World order, and D-Generation X before them). With Kofi's win, I could see, in future, Xavier Woods and Big E also be in line for a title opportunity as well. I mean, why not do 'The Shield' treatment with The New Day? In any event, I'm happy to see Kofi finally pull this one down, and now, become a WWE Legend. I wonder what The New Day will have planned for SmackDown tomorrow night? XB |

I kind of hate that they throw around Grand Slam so willy-nilly now. Isn't the Grand Slam supposed to be the biggest championships in a sport? Yeah, in tennis it's four, but when you've got six openweight championships, it should be all six. Seth Rollins still needs to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles; Randy Orton still needs to win the Universal Title; Roman Reigns still needs to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles; Kofi Kingston still needs to win a Universal Title, etc.
Seems weird to me to say that Kofi is a Grand Slam Champion, but when there's a major championship he hasn't won (the major championship) it's like "oh, no, he hasn't won that." There shouldn't be a recognized Grand Slam Champion at the moment. I guess you could make a case for Shawn Michaels having done it when that was a case of all the belts worth winning in WWE, but when you have guys winning 4/6 belts, it seems really trivial. Kofi is the first African-born WWE Champion though. No disputing that one. WWE also recognized Booker T, Bobby Lashley and Mark Henry as black World Champions, so that makes him the fifth, although only Rock is recognized by an active World Title's history. |

With the annual complaint about pillars obstructing views, I still can’t believe they don’t just go with something like WM24
![]() The purpose of the pillars is to rig up the lights, speakers, and screens. And that’s what this does. But no. WWE need to make it decorative (WM28/29) or make them giant LEDs so it looks flashy on TV even though it screws over thousands of paying customers. |

Outside of Ron Simmons and Booker T, did another black wrestler win the WCW Title? I don't think they did.
Have their been any black World Champions outside that? I think Bobo Brazil got a sniff, but I'm not sure if it's been recognized. Ron Killings in TNA doesn't count, lol. Nor does Ezekiel Jackson in WWECW count. I remember hearing something about the early days of the NWA Title, but I can't remember the name. I don't think it was a World Heavyweight Championship, looking into it briefly. |

Apparently the NJ Transit was really upset with WWE after the show ended. WWE didn't bother to tell them the show was going to run beyond midnight and because of regulations, that's why transportation after the show was a nightmare.
Also seems Vince once again messed around with Mania plans since he decided during the pre-show to shuffle the card around. Universal title match wasn't originally planned to go on first nor was Hogan told about the changes which is why he was surprised to see Heyman on stage. |

I'm going to have to say fuck NJ transit. WWE didn't notify them the event wouldn't be over til after 12? Seriously? GTFOH, that's a garbage excuse instead of just admitting they got overwhelmed.
What happens when theres a baseball/basketball/football game and they run past midnight for whatever reason? Happens a lot. Do they get pissy at the league for not telling them in advance? I seriously doubt it. Just seems like such a petty complaint. |

If it was counted as a sport, they'd have a lot more leeway to go beyond their stated end time for OT reasons. Also seems WWE could have avoided this issue if they just called ahead of time since the way the NJ Transit worded it, WWE didn't even bother to inform them of the show running late. |

Also I don't really see how the show ending before or after 12 should even have an impact. Are they suggesting that if the show ended 15-20 minutes earlier there wouldn't have been transit issues?

We also have signs on the outskirts of the stadium region that let people know to perhaps use outer city routes to avoid congestion. They're digitized and can be updated with traffic conditions.

I imagine that it would also be fairly easy for NJ Transit to get the word out to Uber to notify their drivers that there could be good business in the area so people aren't waiting forever for one and there aren't people giving lifts for $200 or whatever it was. But really, if WWE had said "Hey, the show is probably going to go to 12:30," then they can have buses prepped pretty early to get people out -- boom, boom, boom. It's kind of their job to move around thousands of people. I think a dude working there could probably deal with it in an hour if he had known. You work out what the attendance of the building is going to be, how many seats do you need leaving the area, Bob's your uncle.
If they can't legally up transport at that time of night (not sure why that would be the case, but whatever), then that's something WWE, as a public events promotion company, should probably understand after running giant events for however many decades they have. It's also possible that WWE did know this, were told that there were going to be major issues if they went past *insert reasonable time here*, and Vince and co. just didn't care -- it's not their problem -- in which case I can imagine why some people would be pissed. Don't really feel sorry for WWE getting blowback for not thinking about the logistics of this show -- especially when they tie it in to the locality of the events and the economic and ergonomic benefits of what doing business with a machine as polished as WWE means. |

It's also likely that NJ Transit got a lot of complaints and pissed off people stranded at their stations yelling at them, tired out of their minds, because "you knew the show was on tonight, why didn't you prepare better?" and they were caught with their pants down, because they had no clue Vince was going to go that extent. There may have been a lot of abused workers with no authority, and even people with authority, who had no clue what was going on or why this would be happening, and it all could have been avoided if WWE communicated their plans.
This seems more WCW running late with PPVs, causing fans to call in pissed off they were ripped off and demanding refunds, when they could have just told the PPV providers they were going late, or just not run late, than it is NJ Transit having a hissy fit because somehow they knew there would be tens of thousands of people waiting for trains and didn't have any trains. |
