If tonight's session with Khuntry is any indication; Chris is way past the awkward phase and he's a fully fledged member of my team. Khuntry's Dormammu is a dirty guy, and he has new tricks with Skrull I didn't see a few nights ago. Can't wait to play the guys offline soon.

I love when people find out the hard way that Dante's not just an assist or lvl3 XF crutch, he's the leader of the team. When all else fails, he doesn't[tm]. Got a ten streak on Ranked matches (and counting, good night for me). Stuffing guys with bigger streaks is lovely. Especially love shutting down flowchart Sents. 70+% on Ranked!

Dante is awesome, he has everything I need.

It took ages for the game to actually find a Ranked Match for me tonight and, when I finally got a match, I was put up against a 9th lord ranked player.

He was Dante, Deadpool and Wolverine and I got him down do the very last pixel of health (I'm just Rookie rank) and he starts spamming Trigger Happy to beat my last fighters final chunk of health.

How good is 9th lord? Is it a case of the higher the number the better the player (9th lord is better than 8th lord) or is it the other way around (8th lord is better than 9th lord)?

Was a real FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU moment, either way.

I'm pretty sure the higher the number, the better. First Lord is best I think.

I have yet to be able to connect to a ranked match. Don't care, player matches are better.

No, the lower the rank the better.

It goes Beginner, Amateur, Rookie, Fighter, then 9th Lord, 8th Lord, 7th Lord, 6th Lord, 5th Lord, 4th Lord, 3rd Lord, 2nd Lord, 1st Lord, then who knows.

It's one of the things that bugs me about online in fighting games. People don't choose characters they like or characters they are good with. It's just whoever will make ranking up easier. That's pointless because then you face off against someone that got the same rank as you through being good with characters so you get beaten by them.

Saying that, I just beat a 5th lord (I'm a Fighter rank now) who was using Dante, Sentinel and Pheonix. He got Dark Pheonix, and then tagged her out to save her for last. I KO both Dante and Sentinel and in comes Dark Pheonix. He uses X-Factor and starts throwing fire everywhere but I still beat him without losing a single team member.

Dark Pheonix using X-Factor is still insanely weak. One Hulk Crush took off the vast majority of her health and then it was just one H punch and that was it.

I'm trying to think about who to add to my team. Right now, my "main" team is Hagger, Hulk and Taskmaster.

Hulk and Taskmaster are great but I'm realising Hagger may be a weak link. His spinning lariet is unusuable (I refuse to use a move that will cause me damage), his hyper combos are useless 90+% of the time and his grabs are not at all practical in a player vs player fight, especially when almost every single fight consists of fighting Dante and the Spamettes. Every fight I am winning turns into me trying to get around "Unibeam! Unibeam! Unibeam!" or something.
He has his uses and I'm good with him but he's trailing behind Hulk and Taskmaster in terms of usability and effectivness.

I'm just not sure who, if anyone, should replace him. Suggestions?

Yea, if you can get his grabs down, Spencer can stop a spammer pretty quickly. Felicia is a good choice too as she'll wreck some spammers.

If projectile spamming is all that bothers you, then Felicia and Spidey can get around that pretty easily. Spencer I find a bit slower, but he still does fine.

I'm able to do the basics with Spencer but I've not used him enough to get to a decent level at all.

I take back what I said about Haggar, though. He's not THAT bad. Used him online today and took out the first two members of the opposing team and got the final guy down to the last chunk before getting K.O.'d (I had let my first two members get beaten easily as I was about to leave the lobby anyway).

Oddly enough, Haggers rubbish as a grappler but he's not so bad as a striker, especially for launch into an air combo.

I'm pretty curious to hear who everyone has a their "main" team.

Using Cap, Doom and Deadpool primarily. X23 subs in for Cap sometimes. I'm still pretty terrible though which is frustrating. Like, I get some of the concepts, just can't really figure out how to link moves for some reason..

I know that. I redeemed it via the site on the back when I got the game and they said they'd email me a code by the 15th. I haven't gotten shit from them yet. Dunno how long it takes.

I don't know why, but the redeem page for the characters never seems to load properly for me. Then when I try to register, I get taken to a blank page.

I haven't really settled on one. SuperSkrull is a must for wrecking the AI with no effort.

Playing though? Taskmaster. Beyond him, I'm not really settled on my other two. The others I've put time into have aspects of them that I like, but no one is standing out to me yet. I tend to default to either Cap, Thor, and Iron Man/Hulk (Avengers Assemble!), Taskmaster, Pool, and X-23, or Taskmaster, Hsien-Ko, and Felicia.
