Yeah the Red Sox would have a lot of pitching weapons (maybe too much) if they get Burhele. I heard that they are the fav to get him but that the Mets want him real bad. I am suprised not to hear the Yankees in the mix because they could use a SP right now to go with Clemens, Wang, Mussina and crew and move another SP to the bullpen which they need right now.

Yeah, the Cards need some SP, but Carpenter will be back and they just traded for Maroth who is a decent pitcher. But the NL Central is wide open and you cant count out the champs and they might make a run for him.

I hear it's the Braves that are the most interested in Buehrle.
Another trade rumour is that the Yankees are going after Carlos Pena of the Tampa Rays. Giving up a top pitching prospect for him. I dunno, the Rays would be dumb to give up what is now a proven thing for a prospect. (Sean Henn??) Also with those two teams, apparently if they can't get Pena, they go after Wigginton. That I can see the Rays giving up. |

this might've been answered before or they might have even tried it already but have they thought about moving Damon to first?

Yeah, they've talked about that too. They've put him in there in late innings a couple times recently. Never let him start the game there though. I think the only reason he isn't playing there now is because while in the NL parks he was too injured to play the field, and in the AL he could be the DH. With Giambi gone and Phelps DFA, they really have no one else to even DH.

I dunno, the way the Yankees roster was set up at the beginning of the season was just a mess. Having 3 1B on the roster always limits what you can do and the ironic thing is that not one of the 3 is currently playing/on the team.

Those are Pena's #'s rite now. Don't see why you'd give that up for a prospect when this guy is basically a prospect himself that's working out. Don't have to pay hom tons of cash can secure him for a long period, etc... |

I'm assuming that TB wants pitching in return. I saw that Sean Henn rumor but I really couldn't see that getting it done alone.

It would be hilarious if the Yanks dealt a top pitching prospect for Pena...especially when they had Pena on their roster just last year

Red Sox only lose to horrible pitchers. We owned Peavy then got shelled by Weaver.

And back to the Burhele thing, I can only see the Red Sox doing it if Burhele agrees to re-up his contract. If thats the case, then it makes perfect sense since there is a very good chance that Schilling will not be on the Red Sox next season.
Also, it makes sense anyway, move Tavarez back to the pen (which will allow the Sox to DFA Mike Timlin) and have Burhele take his spot. This allows Lester to stay in AAA for the entire year as he battles back from his defeat of cancer. Then next season Schilling is probably gone, freeing up a spot for Lester...plus it's not like Wakefield is getting any younger. Not saying this trade NEEDS to happen or something, but just saying I think it only will improve a good Sox team. I dunno if I would trade Ellsbury or Clay Buchholz though. Maybe Ellsbury, since its a lot easier to get a bat/outfield but Buchholz needs to be untouchable. Buchholz is probably who the White Sox want though...Maybe they could unload Mr. Hype Craig HAAAsen? haha Last edited by Jesus Shuttlesworth; 06-26-2007 at 07:19 PM. |

Nomar moving to 3rd base. Smart move, IMO. Loney has been tearing shit up at 1st, and 3rd base has been a problem for us all year.

![]() Hard loss to swallow. And against the O's. I guess after showing Perlozzo the door, that club got a good kick in the ass and is doing rather good. Poor Andy Pettitte. This is just not his season. |

Baffles me how a team can win 13 of their first 16 to start a month and then drop 6 of their next 7.

Damn Twins. They shouldn't be allowed to win extra inning games against the Jays. Hopefully they add that rule next year... SEILEG!

Chicago White Sox Pittsburgh Arizona Before that, they went 2-1 against Boston, after then went 2-1 against Mets, and then got swept by Colorado and lost a series to San Francisco. Hardly a convincing run. |

Damn Red Sox got swept by the Marines. Matsuzaka went 8 IP 1 ER 8 K 1 BB though, so it's not all bad I guess.
On the flip side Ortiz went 0-5 with 5 K.......... |

8IP, 3H, 1ER, 1BB, 8 SO... oh yeah, the loss was his fault... His 6 losses... 3ER 2ER 6ER 2ER 2ER 1ER and a no decision 7ER. Of those he really only should have lost 2. the 7ER and 6ER... the other games the hitting let him down... but that's the case with most the staff... the Sox have great pitching and no one can hit... they should easily have 5-10 more wins right now. |

Mariners are on a roll since they got destroyed 16-1 against the Reds in the first game of that series.
Also, reports are Burhlele is not gonna get traded, and the White Sox are looking to sign him to an extension |
