LOL the Mets' board has been infested with Philly fans who think they've just won the division. Yeah cause a half game lead with 2 full months ago sure does seal the deal.

If Manny HAS to go to an NL East team, I'm hoping it is the Marlins as the rumors suggest. I'm just not sure the Marlins have the pitching to hold up and all their hitters do is swing for the fences, the only non-HRs they get are bloop singles.

Gonna be a crazy day...come on Omar, either call up Eddie Kunz or get us a bullpen arm today.

And there's the first deal of the day...Ken Griffey Jr. to the White Sox. It's not known what the Reds get in return but Griffey will decide whether or not to accept the trade today.

Honestly, I love Manny, I just dont want him on my team That shit would infuriate me if he was a Yankee. But since he is not, I can appreciate how awesomely funny this guy is.

I would like to see Griffey contend, and now the Reds have some money to spend this offseason.

I want to see the Reds do well, they have some amazing young guys that I really like.

Also, hell yeah Pudge Rodriguez. Cashman has looked like a fucking genius lately. We needed a catcher so bad. Not only do we drop Farnsworthless at a time where his value is at an all-time high (which I've been calling for), we pick up Pudge as a rental with the chance to resign him if Posada is fucked. Even if we don't resign him, he's a type A free agent and Farnsworth is a type B so we picked up 2 draft picks.

What drives me crazy is that every Yanks or Sox fan I know is acting like the division is between them...they are just assuming the Rays are gonna drop out.

Granted, they probably will...but it still pisses me off that so many people refuse to give them a chance.

Apparently Lohse might be available from the Cards and Putz might be available from Seattle.

I would hate to even think what Putz would cost from the Mariners. I've read that for Washburn the M's want two top prospects from whichever team wanted him. From the Mets they wanted Martinez and Niese.

Apparently Florida is asking Boston to pay all of Manny's contract this year plus 2 million more than he's owed (for some reason), plus whatever prospects Boston would have to give up. Kinda crazy.

I think its gonna be really interesting for the rest of the season if Manny stays in Boston.

Yesterday I was reading that the Dodgers were willing to give up Kemp. Just read a little while ago that they'd want to deal Ethier instead of Kemp though. Can't imagine them giving up Kemp for a rental.

the Marlins were nuts with what they wanted, an extra 2mil plus prospects?

They're contending right now and would get one of the best hitters in the league for the rest of the season for free... WTF...

The good thing is, Manny has to play well, if he fucks off it will hurt his chances at that long-term deal he wants.

If Boston doesn't deal him today why wouldn't they just pick up his option for next year and trade him in the offseason? Kinda like the Sheffield thing the Yankees did. It would obviously piss Manny off but he's already pissed off at the Sox so it wouldn't matter much. They always run the risk of not being able to deal him I guess.

They get 2 draft picks for him, this team has done very well drafting, partially because a lot of team pass on top guys because they can't afford to sign them or can't deal with their agent.

Manny Ramirez's stormy relationship with the Boston Red Sox appears to be over.
A baseball source has confirmed Ramirez has been traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers, ESPN.com has learned.
Jason Bay is going to Boston as part of the deal. And the Pittsburgh Pirates get four minor leaguers as part of the three-way deal.

Yeah, definitely. Bay/Ortiz isn't nearly as intimidating as Manny/Ortiz.

Kind of crazy for the Sox to send Manny plus his whole contract and Hansen/Moss for a downgrade offensively in Bay.

Thats a lot of money sitting on the bench if its Pierre and Jones sitting. It is kind of funny that Torre gets Manny now though.

I don't understand why they gave up Moss too? Hansen I don't really mind because he has never really lived up to his expectations but I don't understand giving up Moss?

Manny had to go though I think, this was a lot different from the past years. I wish they could have gotten more though or maybe just not given up as much...
