It was hard to see that it was a dive, Rooney went down convincingly.
In the 1994 F.A Cup final Ellery gave a penalty and didn't change his decision despite the linesman who was in a MUCH better position saying that it was not a penalty. |

Even though on the replay you can see its not a penalty, if I was in Riley's position I'd have given it. |

Ljungberg wasn't going to score, he knocked the ball too far in front of him. Rio clashed with him, and fouled him sure enough, but it wasn't stopping a goalscoring opportunity. Wasn't a professional foul, wasn't a red card. Just a free kick. |

lol thats quite funny. i should put a bid in to keep him at united.....he's worth more than forlan was at any rate.
hopefully RVN will get banned by the FA now - in replay you could see him look at cole and then raise his studs. that was absolutely outrageous. even though he's my favourite player, he still should be banned for that disgraceful act. and hopefully mike riley will be banned as well -didnt they do that to another ref earlier on this season?? and rio shouldn't have been sent off but at least arsenal should have got a free kick. and if you want to see a bad penalty decision, watch the highlights of the barca game at the weekend....ronaldinho was embarrased by the decision!! |

Burnley 3 - Villa 1
And they missed a peno. What utter shit. We had our best 11 out aswell. Injuries can't be an excuse for that kind of preformace. Total crap and our one slim chance of Europe is now gone. |

Samba stars to join Garforth Town
Careca, 44, and Socrates, 50, could also be joined by former international team-mate Zico, who is another being lined up by the club. Garforth owner and manager Simon Clifford said: "I put out a few feelers and Socrates said he would be interested. He's a pretty principled guy and isn't interested in the money - which is just as well because we're not paying him. "I'm told he's still in good shape, although he's still smoking. I'm pretty strict on discipline and smoking but I guess I can make an exception for him. "Careca's also coming for next season and Zico is going to try his best." Clifford has built up a string of contacts in Brazil through his Socatots coaching schools. And his masterplan is to bring Garforth into the Premiership by 2025 and also tried to snap up 1994 World Cup winners Bebeto and Romario. Socrates, who joins former England international Lee Sharpe at the club, skippered Brazil at two World Cups and was unquestionably one of the greatest players of his generation. He has signed a one-month deal with the club and is expected to make his debut against Tadcaster Albion in front of a capacity 3,000 home crowd at Garforth - a far cry from playing in front of 200,000 at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. Socrates - not surprisingly - has a reputation as a deep thinker with strong views not only on football but society in general. Quite what he will make of Garforth - a former pit village in the heartland of West Yorkshire - remains to be seen. A doctor by profession, his new team-mates will include a gardener and an electrician. |

Another footballer collapses on-field and dies.
![]() http://www4.sbs.com.au/home/index.php3?id=51250 Brazilian player dies SBS Sao Caetano defender Serginho has died after suffering a heart attack during Wednesday's Campeonato Brasileiro match against Sao Paulo. The club's official website stated that the 30-year-old suffered a suspected cardio-respiratory arrest although the official cause of death was not immediately released. The match was abandoned after Serginho's collapse in the 59th minute at the Morumbi Stadium in Sao Paulo. Medical staff at the ground attempted to revive the player - who full name is Paulo Sergio de Oliveira Silva - as stunned players looked on helplessly while others break down in tears. Serginho was still unconscious when he was rushed to the Sao Luiz hospital with Sao Caetano president Nairo Ferreira later informing reporters that he had died shortly after arrival. "We did what we could do, but the situation was very serious from the moment he fell to the ground," doctor Jose Sanchez said. Serginho is survived by his wife and his 4-year-old son. The incident occurred just hours after Bolton midfielder fainted during the warm-up for Bolton's Carling Cup match against Tottenham. The Senegal ace - who has a history of heart problems - has recovered and is in hospital for observation. Earlier this year, a third-division player collapsed and died during training in Budapest while Benfica's Hungarian player Miklos Feher collapsed during a Portugal top flight match against Vitoria Guimaraes and later died in hospital. In 2003, Cameroon star Marc-Vivien Foe collapsed and died after suffering a heart attack during the semi-final of the Confederations Cup. RIP ![]() |

In this case he was fully aware of the risks in playing though. Earlier in the year the club found he had a heart problem and he signed stuff saying he wished to play regardless. Still a shame though.

He is obviously talking about the United match and not the player dying.
And Mutu has been sacked by Chelsea. |

I wouldn't have sacked Mutu. I'd hold his contract for the two years he is suspended and suspend his pay.

Yeah they should have let Jose and Mutu have a proper talk about it and then decide.
Although Mutu apparantley said he was close to punching Mourinho after he refused to let him play for Romania. |

Hearts' Craig Levein was unveiled as the new Leicester City manager earlier today.
http://skysports.planetfootball.com/...Levein+as+boss Leicester have unveiled Craig Levein as their new manager. Levein quit Hearts earlier on Friday after both clubs agreed a compensation package for his move south. The former Scottish international replaces Micky Adams at The Walkers Stadium following his departure earlier this month. Levein revealed it was a wrench to leave Hearts, but that it has always been his ambition to manage in England. "Leaving Hearts was very difficult, but it was not a difficult decision," Levein said. "The decision came about through my own ambition to manage in England and ultimately to manage in The Premiership. "It was hard to say goodbye to some good friends and people I enjoyed working with immensely, and particularly the players who gave me the opportunity to join such a fantastic club as Leicester. "For a year or so now, I've been looking. And I realised to get to the English Premiership, where I wanted to be, it would be difficult to do that from a provincial club which Hearts are. "I've been looking for a club with the same ambition as I have, and the recent history of Leicester would dictate that they are a Premiership club. "I'm very confident that we match each other's ambition and we can move forward together." Levein also revealed he is looking to bring in a new number two with experience of English football, as well as his assistant Peter Houston from Hearts. "Peter Houston will join me in some capacity and I have someone in mind as my number two and I working on that right now. "I want an assistant that knows a lot about The Championship and English football and in general, people who know more than me." ---------- I don't know anything about the guy, or whether he's any good, but the FoxFanzine.com posters seem to be happy about it, but thats probably just because that means no more Harry or Wilko. |

Yeah i would have been happy with anyone but those two, just a shame Bassett is going back to being director of football.
Levein himself seems a quality appointment and seems to have done well at Hearts, another young manager is what most of us wanted and the only downfall is the compensation really. |
