Moss will probably be a Major League OF, has a good swing and has always looked decent.

Hanson has never really lived up to the hype, but he's young and has a good arm, so the right coach might turn him around.

Also I heard Schilling caused some controversy earlier in the morning and upset David Ortiz with his comments about Ramirez or something, I haven't heard them myself so I dunno how true it is or whatever but I wouldn't doubt it. I am glad Schilling helped bring 2 World Series championships to Boston but that guy cannot keep his mouth shut. Dude should probably focus more of his time on his wife's SHADE foundation, seeing how one of their programs is offering free showings at movies theaters during the afternoon to children to keep them out of the sun. Wow great idea

Loads of Mets fans are bitching at Omar for not making any moves. Tbh, while I would have liked to see a bullpen arm and a right-handed hitting outfielder (nothing flashy, just a couple extra pieces), I'm really not bothered. I don't know what people wanted Omar to do...it seemed pretty obvious to me that by trading 4 of the top 6 prospects in the Mets' system for Johan, we were gonna be sticking to our guns at the deadline.

Omar's usually pretty good at working the waiver wire and getting players that way, so I trust him. He refused to trade OF Fernando Martinez, LHP Jon Niese, RHP Bobby Parnell, RHP Eddie Kunz, or 2B Dan Murphy...and I'm glad. Kunz could very well be called up straight from AA to the MLB bullpen soon because he has nasty stuff...and I wouldn't be surprised if all 5 guys wound up on the big league roster in September (though I doubt they'd play much if the Mets are still in the thick of it).

LOL yeah...of course Billy Beane never would have done Milledge for Zito straight up. I think Beane is just bitter from when the Mets traded him when he was a prospect, so he dangles a new player in front of the Mets every year only to not make the deal (Damon, Zito, Haren, Blanton, Street, etc.)

This Manny deal sucked for Boston. Giving up Brandon Moss Craig Hansen and Manny for Jason fucking Bay. Nothing against Bay, he's good and all, be he's certainly no Manny. Manny only had two months before he could have been released, Theo should have waited until then rather than making a crappy deal just to make a deal. I understand all the shit he's done, but that doesn't take away from his ability on the field and the fact that he lead us to two titles.

He will be a beast in LA though, no doubt about that. It sucks since they have five outfielders already (correct me if I'm wrong Dodger fans). It'll be fun to see how Joe handles him and if he gets a starting spot right away (I would think so since LA needs the bat).

The Pirates made out pretty well in this deal, landing Andy LaRoche and minor-leaguer Bryan Morris in addition to the aforementioned players from the Sox. The Bucs now have a decent third baseman, a pitcher with a good arm who needs direction, an outfielder who will be good, and a prospect (don't know how good he is).

I get that Theo wanted to get rid of him, but it was a lot to give up just to get Jason Bay and just for the sake of dealing him.

Also Jason Bay hit a triple in 12th and ended being the scoring run for Lowery's walk-off single against the A's, nice start to his Red Sox career. Would have been better if it was a walk off home run (almost was)
