The amended lawsuit, seeking $1.2 million in damages, now lists World Wrestling Entertainment as a defendant. The original lawsuit listed only Bullard and 1-300 "John Does" as the defendants. In the suit, Anderson alleges he was placed into an unsafe environment and was physically attacked by Bullard while filming content for Swerved, WWE Network's Jackass-inspired reality series. The incident in question that Anderson was filming saw WWE talent Paige shocking Bullard with an electric shock stick. The complaint alleges that Bullard became enraged and went after Anderson, kicking his camera out of his hand, leading to injuries on his hand, wrist and fingers to the point he could not work. Anderson also claims in the suit that he was instructed to leave the scene out of fear that O'Neil might go after him again and was "whisked" from the scene.

However, there was also a feeling from WWE sources that by going outside during an active TV taping when he was supposed to be working as a writer,Jacobs was seen as "ignoring his job" to get himself and his friends over. One WWE source believed that the while the photo was being used as the reason to fire Jacobs, it wasn't the only issue, noting that he had taken some time off to deal with a personal issue before returning to work this past summer, and that may have put a target on his back.

Essentially they are shopping the show around hoping that another station will pick it up and pay enough to produce the show at nearly the previous levels. The feeling on that side is that you know where you stand, the audience isn’t growing, and anything more would be throwing good money after bad. Two key executives are of that belief. On the other side is Eric Van Wagenen, Dorian Roldan and Vampiro, who all believe in the project and feel it just needs time and better exposure to watch on. Alex Garcia and Antonio Cue-Navarro, who put up the money for the last two seasons, have refused to put more money into the project. Right now it appears that unless they can find new funding, or get a new TV station to pay the costs, the choice is to stay on El Rey for a heavily stripped down version or to close it down.

He said he was only suppose to work the Global Wars tour show in Chicago, but supply and demand takes precedence and he goes where he's needed and wanted. Matt Jackson took the mic and mentioned the Bullet Club "invasion" of Raw to a huge pop. He talked about having the freedom to do what he wants and said he won’t get fired for taking a selfie with a friend or fan. Matt mentioned how we help feed their families before Nick interrupted to say that they'll see their families on Christmas, referencing WWE having Raw live on Christmas this year. That drew a huge "F*ck Vince" chant. Matt said Vince McMahon takes fun away from fans and told the fans to tell Vince what we think -- with the entire audience giving a Too Sweet. Omega quoted the movie "Braveheart" about never taking away their freedom, then he said goodbye and goodnight to the audience. The Bullet Club's music played and they jumped into the crowd to end the show.

And Lesnar’s programs with Goldberg, Joe and Strowman jump started the main event scene at two different times that ratings were in the toilet and things were kind of blah. WWE does have certain rights to Lesnar that, if a new deal isn’t signed, will go through the first week of August. The entire dynamic has changed in the sense the Jon Jones fight would have been so lucrative that Lesnar would have let his contract expire, signed with fight Jones, and then, after the fight, probably returned to WWE. But that fight is off, and unless Jones gets a one-year suspension out of all this, it will probably never happen. The feeling across the board right now is that Jones vs. Lesnar will never happen. If Lesnar does want to do another UFC fight, if they wait until August, that would be the cleanest way to do so in the sense WWE would have no rights to him. One thing is that Lesnar evidently felt the deal last year, where he wrestled through Mania and fought in early July, left him too little time to get into top shape. It worked out because he won, but he would rather have a four month window as far as getting back into that kind of shape before a training camp, so if he did want to fight next year and the opportunity came up, he really wouldn’t want to do so until August anyway, so that explains why White said that date. Plus, those inside say that even though WWE is repped by WME IMG, the owners of UFC, that things aren’t smooth. White has said he has a good business relationship with HHH, but it’s more difficult with Vince.

Wouldn't Kane be going after Roman Reigns because he retired The Undertaker? If The Undertaker comes back to defend him, then why would Kane fight him? It makes no sense. Therefore it goes up in likelihood.

So Enzo was helping the 3rd hour ratings whereas Roman hurt them? Listening to the SCG Radio podcasts on the timeline, it's incredible to look back and see how much information WCW had in 1999. Things were going well in 1998, but they were getting feedback from the ratings where certain acts were scoring lower than the average rating for the show. It's obviously not that dramatic, but the 3rd hour doing well under Enzo but not under Reigns makes a very clear statement that is going to be very frustrating in retrospect.

On Wednesday’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez and Mike Sempervive discussed the Nia Jax rumors. It’s an odd story because no one has officially confirmed anything, other than a denial from WWE about her leaving. There’s also the story from Pro Wrestling Sheet with a source telling them that she took a leave of absence. Alvarez said, “According to WWE, Nia Jax has not gone and she never left. That’s what they say. She was not at Raw on Monday so she didn’t walk out – that’s for sure.” “I know that Nia Jax has been unhappy about things. I was told that Nia wanted the match with Asuka at the [TLC] pay-per-view and she’s not getting it. God bless her, I’ve seen that match live [and] I don’t want to see it at the pay-per-view. There were some other things that she was unhappy about.” To me, the fact that Emma got the match should not be taken as a slight to Jax because it’s likely that Asuka will get a squash win at TLC. Jax should be someone saved as a future (and more credible) opponent. Alvarez later added, “Something’s going on but I don’t know what it is. WWE claims there’s nothing going on. But things are going on but I don’t know what’s going on. Does that make sense?”

Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reported that she is unhappy with her creative and pay scale. We noted earlier that she has leverage due to her family link with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson so there are options for her, namely with The Rock’s 7 Bucks Entertainment. Eva Marie is signed with 7 Bucks and the same company has been working on a movie about Paige’s family. When Jax returns to WWE, the betting line is that she’ll probably have a bigger paycheck.

It's likely that Finn Balor will be Lesnar's opponent for the Royal Rumble in January and then the plan has been for Lesnar to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34. No word yet on the finish for The Beast vs. The Modern Day Maharaja but The Observer notes that Lesnar losing to Jinder makes no sense due to his recent wins over Bill Goldberg, Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman. A loss by Jinder makes SmackDown feel more like the B show. A finish with outside interference for a DQ or No Contest is always possible but finishes like that at major shows usually don't sit well with fans.

The likely reason for Michaels being added to the show is because Ring of Honor has a show in San Antonio head-to-head that night. Originally McIntyre vs. Cole was to headline the TakeOver show in Houston until the decision was made to revive the War Games concept.

ROH announced today that Kenny Omega would be wrestling at Supercard of Honor XII in 2018. The show will take place at the UNO Lakefront Arena on Saturday, April 7th and will go against that weekend's NXT TakeOver special. Omega is the second wrestler to be announced for Supercard of Honor 2018, joining Hiroshi Tanahashi. ROH has yet to reveal any details about the matches they'll be taking part in. With both Omega and Tanahashi announced, it means NJPW isn't running a major date at that time, and also means that much of the New Japan talent will likely be available. Normally NJPW runs a major show at Sumo Hall in Tokyo on that weekend, and thus, the New Japan stars haven't been available to ROH for its annual Mania events.

The concept would "seek out" a new female WWE star. We are told the idea that has been passed around would be that the series places its competitors on the road with WWE as they all travel together via tour bus. There would be weekly competitions that would lead to eliminations before one final winner is crowned, earning a WWE contract. WWE has been looking to revive the Diva Search idea for some time but has yet to actually do so, so this may just be the latest effort in that attempt.

WCW tested, but everyone involved would acknowledge the WCW testing was a farce and during the early stages of the wrestling war, a generally older WCW main event roster was more physically impressive than a younger WWF roster. At one point Vince McMahon got so mad about it they ran skits accusing Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage of being on steroids, and at another point challenged WCW to do the same level of testing they were doing. When WCW started gaining in popularity, McMahon made the call to drop the testing. The death rate of wrestlers in the late 90s, and this cut across WWF, WCW and ECW, and all were bad, on a percentage basis there wasn’t much difference, was horrible. It was not the same in Japan and Mexico.

Forbes has ranked WrestleMania at #6 on their Most Powerful Sports Brand list. They value the brand at $195 million, up 8.3% from the year before. The top 5 were the NCAA Final Four at #5, FIFA World Cup, the Winter Olympics, the Summer Olympics and the NFL's Super Bowl at #1 with a $663 million value. WWE announced the following on making the list: WrestleMania makes Forbes' Fab 40 list of most powerful sports brands WrestleMania has once again ranked on Forbes' Fab 40. The Showcase of the Immortals, which just celebrated its 33rd edition this past April in Orlando, ranked at No. 6 on the magazine's long-running list of the world's most valuable sports brands, above institutions such as the UEFA Champions League and the Daytona 500. This year's WrestleMania broke the Orlando Citrus Bowl's attendance record with 75,245 WWE Universe members from all 50 states and 62 different countries. The previous Orlando Citrus Bowl attendance record – 74,635 – had been set by WrestleMania XXIV in 2008. WrestleMania also ranked on Forbes' list in 2014, 2015 and 2016.

WWE Network profitability increased from $15.7 million during the third quarter last year to $24.3 million, due to a combination of more revenue and lower spending due to producing fewer original shows. However, the 1,507,000 subscribers for the Network, while up four percent from one year ago, was a decline from the last quarter. There were 392,000 new sign-ups and 453,000 cancellations during the quarter. During the third quarter last year, there were 388,000 new sign-ups and 455,000 cancellations, so the trend was very close to identical. This shows that the strength of the pay-per-views, as the main events were stronger this year, only has a very minor effect on subscription numbers. The other take is that the Mae Young Classic, with all the hype, really meant nothing for subscriber numbers. They also predicted another drop in Network subscriptions, as much as 50,000, in the fourth quarter. WWE also increased profitability of house shows, although it was by running more total events as the average attendance dropped from 5,300 to 4,900 per show. Licensing profits went from $4.6 million to $6.7 million due to an increase in mobile game sales.

The Network's numbers dropping instead of growing is not a good sign. Still stuck in the 1.4-1.5 million range when they were expecting the 2-3+ million by now for original plans. Also some of their money increases has catches to them which can become a big issue down the line.

Another reason they're waiting until 2018 to do the match is the feeling that the extra time will help them get Rousey, Duke and Shafir ready for the ring. Baszler continues to train at the WWE Performance Center under her WWE NXT deal and Rousey was at the Performance Center this past week. No word yet on the rumored Rousey vs. Flair singles match happening in the future but it was once rumored for WrestleMania.

The feeling is that if Pentagon was the guy who Mundo beat that his losing without coming back strong for revenge would have hurt him, and the idea for the season was to put as much heat on Mundo.

PW Insider wrote a story regarding the proposed U.K. television show and the basic gist behind the delays is as we had noted, they are looking to get a paid deal on TV in the U.K. for the show rather than have it be a WWE Network exclusive. The costs of the pilot shows where they did the U.K. tournament were very high and that’s why, after announcing they would be starting a weekly series, nothing has happened. It is still in the planning stages but it takes time to make TV deals. The PW Insider story said the working title for the show would be WWE King of the Ring. They noted the show was being pitched to ITV, which is the same thing we’ve heard, basically it’s being pitched everywhere. ITV would be the killer deal because of the reach of the station and because ITV itself was planning on doing its own weekly Saturday afternoon wrestling show. A key point is that ITV earlier in the year was looking at doing a ten week run and then evaluating it from there. That was one of the reasons the deal with Impact fell through, although there were others regarding who would pay what costs. ITV has not dropped the idea of the show and was still looking at trying out wrestling at some point in 2018, so on the surface, WWE producing such a series makes sense for both sides. ITV gets a solid promotion which has top guys under contract and if they are on ITV, pretty much would be able to sign any U.K. talent except the guys with the New Japan or ROH deals. But one would think WWE would want more than a ten-week commitment

In regards to the other people sick, Bo Dallas managed to pass a medical test to be cleared for an in-ring return while Bray was backstage at RAW but not used.

The company confirmed today that the anniversary edition of Raw would be taking place at both the Barclays Center and the Manhattan Center in New York City on January 22nd, 2018. Matches from both venues will air on the broadcast and will feature wrestlers from Raw and SmackDown, along with legends making "special appearances" at the Manhattan Center. The Undertaker (who hasn't been on WWE television since losing to Roman Reigns and indicating that he's retiring at WrestleMania), Shawn Michaels, and Kevin Nash were the first three legends announced as being on the show. WWE has yet to reveal any other details about their scheduled appearances. A one-night return to the Manhattan Center is WWE bringing Raw back to where the first episode of the show took place. The venue was home to Raw in the early parts of its run. The episode will also be the go-home show for the 2018 Royal Rumble, with that pay-per-view set to take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 28th. Tickets for the 25th anniversary episode of Raw will go on sale this Friday via Ticketmaster.

Mike Johnson said that there'll be more talent added to 205 Live within the next coming weeks and there may be more releases on the way, he was told that whoever doesn't go on the European tour, is more than likely on the cutting room floor.

Spud was the first winner of British Boot Camp, the Impact Wrestling reality series and worked for the company in a number of roles from 2012 through earlier this year. He's extremely versatile and would be a great pick-up. WWE is also looking at moving Japanese star Hideo Itami up from NXT with the idea that he would join the Raw brand as a member of the Cruiserweight division, PWInsider.com has confirmed. The idea has been pitched several times of late and we are hearing that while there is no current debut date set, the plan is to move Itami up as soon as creative is in place.
