Notes on "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka:

- lol a funky drum beat starts up and a voice says "superfly" and Jimmy Snuka comes out on stage and jogs down to the ring. He jumps over the top rope to get in and does his Superfly taunt.

- Match starts out with a shoving battle between Snuka and Rey Mysterio. After two shoves, the match properly starts. Sunka gets the first blow in with a flying forearm. Snuka then gives Rey a couple of knee's to the head and a headbutt. Snuka then puts rey down with a backbreaker and another headbutt.

- Snuka throat thrusts Rey and then does a little test of strength move. Snuka then gives Rey a suplex and a dropkick to take the little guy down.

- Snuka knee's Rey in the gut and gives him a russian leg sweep. Rey gets whipped into the corner and Snuka does a monkey flip. Snuka then climbs the top rope and delivers the Superfly splash. He pins Rey after 2:02.

Nice set of vids today. Superfly's splash gets some good height on it. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the legends they have put in this year, apart from Beefcake. I will deffinately be putting them in season mode this year, which I didn't last year because they were pretty crap.

Yeah I'm not that upset with the roster either, except for La Res and London. Obviously some guys are too new as well.

I'm glad they fixed certain things that pissed me off like breaking up submissions Weapons during HIAC.

I wish tag belts were in the game and I wish you could create tag belts but oh well.

But what is this mini-games and spank meter crap?

And I'm not big on CAWs so I don't really care that much about that stuff.

Either way, still excited for this game.

Spank meter is pretty pointless, just like the Bra & Panties mode. Anyway, the mini-games are refering to the chop battles/shove/stare downs etc I think.

No Hurricane or Richards? WTF.

This will be the all-out worst base roster in a SmackDown game ever.

Which brings me to another question:

Which game in the SmackDown series do you believe had the best roster?

I'm going with SmackDown: Shut Your Mouth.

Had they finished it up before Scott Hall got fired, that game would have had the G.O.A.T. roster:

Rock, Austin, Lesnar, Hogan, Michaels, lots of WCWers, X-Cock...

None of the games really had a weak roster, until now.

HCTP was kind of suspect, but at least you had Goldberg and Austin in the same game.

I like how JBI snuck in Jerry Lynn (and his awesome theme music), Tajiri, and Rhyno as hidden wrestlers.

Its small and pointless but why did the ring announcer (forgot his name) say "Glass Cow"? I hear JR say it all the time when he mentions Glasgow.
"Fans in the UK.RAW is coming to Glass Cow"
its prenounced "Glazgo" and spelt Glasgow.

Yeah, I'm going to go with SYM as well. You had something for everybody.

Lots of big main eventers like Austin, Brock, Rock, Taker, Kane, Jericho, Angle, HHH, HBK, Hogan, and Booker to name a few

An excellent midcard roster with the likes of RVD, The Hardyz, the Dudleyz, Edge, Christian, Regal, Nash, DDP, Goldust, Hurricane, Lance Storm, Billy and Chuck, Rikishi, X-Pac, Rhyno, Test, Albert, Benoit (midcarder back then), Eddie (midcarder back then)

And for the people who liked to play as the real low-carders. you had guys like Tazz, Spike, Raven, Holly, Al Snow, Scotty 2 Hotty, Tajiri, The APA, Mark Henry, Rico, Randy Orton, Val, and Maven

I remember thinking how awesome that roster looked when I first heard the whole thing.

Well to be honest, I doubt it will be. It's only Jakks being sued, but because THQ and Jakks are owned by the same people, both names need to go up on the document or something like that.

Ya what ever man I mean how hard is it.Piper's music has bag pips going doesn't do much else it may be slightly different but agin it's bag pipes anyway and id probably the theme he used on Piper's Pit.That is Snuka's theme the last time he came out on Raw with the Rock and Mae Young I believe. World Wrestling Entertainment announced today it has filed suit against a number of parties related to its licenses, including toy manufacturer Jakks Pacific and videogame publisher THQ -- long the home of hugely popular WWE-licensed games.


In essence, the suit alleges that former WWE Senior Vice President of Licensing and Merchandising James Bell and licensing agent Stanley Shenker & Associates, Inc. (SSAI), received money from Jakks in order to secure videogame rights to WWE properties for a joint venture of Jakks and THQ. The suit further alleges that Bell recommended WWE make SSAI its licensing agent after Bell received payment from SSAI.

The suit claims violations under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization Act (RICO); violations of the anti-bribery provisions of the Robinson-Patman Act; as well as claims under state law.

WWE is seeking damages as well as a declaration that the videogame license with the joint venture of Jakks and THQ, and a related amendment to the toy license with Jakks, are void due to commercial bribery. This could effectively mean an end to THQ's WWE-licensed titles.

In a statement, WWE CEO Linda McMahon said, "We very much regret having to take this action today, but regret even more the facts and circumstances which have compelled us to do so. WWE's intellectual property is a valuable asset of the Company, and we believe the actions taken today are necessary to preserve the integrity of our licensing process and essential to ensure that WWE receives appropriate and fair compensation for the grant of a license to use our intellectual property."

THQ's multi-million selling WWE-licensed games, including the much-anticipated Smackdown vs. Raw expected next month, already comprise one of the most successful videogame franchises today.

What this will mean for the future of WWE-licensed games -- and, of course, THQ's involvement -- is uncertain. Of course, we'll have more on the situation very soon. Stay tuned.
