True, but Sinclair is no TNN. They WANT ROH to succeed, and given they own it now, they'll want to MAKE ROH succeed. Should this start off well I see no reason they wouldn't improve the day and timeslot. Also, SBG have already said they're more than willing to put ROH on stations they don't own

I say in theory because you don't know if Sinclair will all of the sudden want to product to go in a different direction.

I don't mean ECW times when ECW was on TNN, I mean before that. Like, I remember ECW coming in on some random local affiliate at like 1AM Sunday morning. I'm not saying Sinclair won't get behind ROH, but those times are not good for a show to succeed.

Ah, got ya. Yeah, it's def not the best times but it beats the hell out of them being on an HD only channel that no one really gets. Good thing is with those times expectations should be pretty low, so they shouldn't be pressured into growing too fast.

I used to love watching ECW at 1 or 2 am Saturday nights around like 96-98ish on America One Network. At one point they ran an XPW show right after for a short while and there was some random promotion that aired before it . When WWF had Shotgun Saturday Night going it would air on a different channel at midnight and Id have a 3 hour block of wrestling that Id always look forward to.

I still wish that ROH had stayed on HDNet..since I get it. I dont see how this deal is better than being on HDNet.

Because as I said right above you, HDNet is a channel that's only in HD and only some of the country gets. And I'm sure if you run the percentages of people who have HDTVs AND have HDNet you'd come up with an incredibly shit number. SBG may not have an affiliate in every city, but at least in those that it does it's regular over-the-air channels with standard definition as an option

Not to mention that since 2009 HDNet has been dropped by carriers like Time Warner, Cox and Cablevision. So where Sinclair has plenty of options to grow the audience, HDNet's is shrinking

Plus if ROH starts to put out a more marketable product to go with their new logo, they could easily get into some better time slots sooner rather than later.

Just caught a news segment on the local FOX affiliate here in San Antonio on ROH. Did a decent job for a quick 2 minute plug. Guy seemed to have an obsession with saying Ring of Honor. Talked about the show debuting in Sept. and what channel it'd be on and then showed the confrontation between Benjamin and Hass and the Briscoes at the press conference

So given that a similar thing probably aired on ALL Sinclair stations, this may already be paying off

Nah, doubt it. The Corino "reforming" himself idea is interesting, and there's no reason to blow it.

If they wanted to do something like that, I'd say have Jimmy Jacobs be the guy to turn. Team him up with Steen, have him say he used Corino to make it look like he changed, worm his way back in, etc.

The iPPV itself isn't looking that great as the first introduction to the new era of ROH. Shelton Benjamin vs. Mike Bennett. That's gonna suck. Shelton had a less than stellar match against Claudio Castagnoli earlier this year at Supercard of Honor VI, and now they're putting him against someone that isn't even good. Charlie Haas vs. Michael Elgin looks good though. But I really don't like the idea of an iPPV with no titles on the line. Davey being in Japan at this time is really poor timing.

Although I didn't really mention the rest of the card which looks decent. Can't really go wrong with a Ladder War between ANX and the Briscoes. And the ringmaster challenge between Eddie and Roderick will be pretty good stuff too. And I'd guess for a Steen appearance during the Generico-Corino match, otherwise that's just wasting the match. Then again ROH could surprise me. Who knows.

I think that they need Shelton and Haas to really bring it in their respective matches with Bennett and Elgin to get them over more. Elgin really bores me, but Bennett has such potential. I think the next iPPV - post TV will be extraordinary, but this one is just to keep everyone rounded

Elgin doesn't have much charisma but he brings it in the ring. I think just the opposite when I see Bennett. Love his promos, but hate watching his matches, but then again he hasn't really had too many worth while opponents to show off his skills.
