Pretty much agreed with it. I played the demo and did not get excited while playing it besides saying "holy shit" when I fought Doomsday and thinking how unrealistic it is for Batman to actually beat him.

Besides I got a ton of games I rather get than this and this definitely isn't worth 60 bucks to me.

I'm a good deal through story mode, and I'm having a lot of fun with it.

My complaint is that Mark Hamill decides to retire after Arkham City although Joker's ending taunt "YOU'RE FIRED!" and throwing a match on his opponent is cool.

The control fighting system is a bit sluggish and mostly figuring out the power up moves much like in an arcade system. Although the fatalities of each character are fucking awesome to watch. I really enjoyed Doomsday's barrage fatality through the earth's core and fucking back... And Batman's fatality with the runover from his batmobile was also fucking awesome...

And the whole story mode made me feel like watching a sequel to Justice League's Crisis on 2 Earths animated video!!!

I really suck at this game, but I love it so.

Really wanted GL to be my main guy but I get slaughtered in every fight not on easy with him, so it's looking like either Nightwing or Flash are the best choice for me so far. Hawkgirl was really good, but like the other girls, she has no durability at all.

Superman is such a combo whore in Battle mode, fucking hate him.

Loving the rest of the game though, story mode is pretty compelling.

Hated Black Adam & Luthor in Battle Mode. Ares almost got a perfect victory for both rounds on me the first time I fought him, but I barely got him on the 3rd try. Luthor seemed like he took like 10 times to beat and he was like 2 or 3 guys from the end.

yeah man, I blasted through it pretty fast, was more into the story than the gameplay. They put way too many achievements on this one. Came out with like 200+ points in a day

As KK pointed out; you can enjoy a game's story in it's entirety on YT these days. I don't understand wasting money on gameplay you don't like much for story you can get on YT for free.

"DmC isn't great on gameplay but the story's cool." YouTube it then, dumbass. Never before seen a generation of gamers so apologetic about gameplay than this past console generation; straight up excuses and letting shit slide for 'story' - all of a sudden super important like somebody played Zelda thinking, "Man this dialogue is sub-par."

I try not to listen to people's reviews of games I plan on playing for that reason. I would rather experience them myself, especially in a game series that is popular, people are going to discuss and give their opinions out and may trash a game I may end up enjoying.

I'm waiting on Tekken X Street Fighter personally, I have a love for fighting games, but I know you are the resident subject matter expert here on that.

Never before seen a generation of gamers so apologetic about gameplay than this past console generation; straight up excuses and letting shit slide for 'story' - all of a sudden super important like somebody played Zelda thinking, "Man this dialogue is sub-par."
As much as people claim to love the attention to story in the netherealm fighters, I don't think I've seen anyone buy it full price, just for that.

Just because it's gameplay is more shallow than the top games at evo, doesn't mean it's not fun, or unworthy of your cash.

I've been having a blast with it.

I love the DBZ Tenkaichi and Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm games; casual gameplay is not a problem for me. I respect the casual party game Mario Kart just as much as the more competitive Diddy Kong Racing, for instance. Depth is not the issue here, just bad/awkward mechanics. But these are personal preferences and I don't aim to direct how people spend their cash or their time. I can offer alternatives, though, like if a guy says he's playing a shitty game for the story it's my civic duty to direct him to YouTube.

It's functional, you press a button and things happen on time, but it's gameplay vision is aimless. It probably won't be noticeable until months in when the game is broken down and we see if it can without millions of playtesters. It's either be a joke (MKvDC) or alright (MK9).

Of course from a fighting game enthusiasts' viewpoint, the best it can hope for is alright.

When making MK9, Ed Boon stated he never made the game with competitive tourney play in mind. He made it as something that everyday people can just sit down and have fun with.

It succeeds greatly in that respect. I've had plenty of people come over and play mortal kombat and have a blast. A few have them enjoyed it enough to get the game themselves so they can be competitive with me. The matches aren't as complex as the ones you and I have, but You know what? I have just as much fun.

That's the crux of it really. You are totally right, that gamers today let a lot of shit fly that they shouldn't. But then there's the other side of the coin. There are a lot of cynical gamers who scrutinize every little thing, and have honestly forgotten how to just sit down and have fun with a video game.

Is Injustice flawed?
Yes.

Is Just Cause 2?
Yes

Final Fantasy 7?
Yes

Are all those games fun? Hell yes.

Pointing out a game's flaws is important, but not so much as determining whether it's actually a fun game to play.

Anyway, I can't seem to get a straight answer from any website on unlockable costumes. Not the ones you buy in archives, but the ones you get from ranking up, star labs, etc.

Every site seems to change the requirements and what costume you get on a daily basis.

I agree with all of that, I just find Injustice ugly in motion.

Check IGN (of all places) for unlockables, I think they got a good lead on them.

Well that's fair. The animation in Ed Boon's fighters have never been particularly pretty to look at.

Though I can watch Flash's super a thousand times and not get tired of it.

Most the major electronics were taken if they matched with some scheme of his. My external HDD was also taken to be processed even though I told them it was mine and he never touched it. TV is gone.

They left the fucking PS3, though. Figures.

Finished off the story the other night, an interesting ending which could easily set up a sequel if they want to cash in. Working my way through the battle modes at the moment, which has made me realise how much I suck at trying to string combos together.
