Edge & Orton's promo segment was pretty good.

The faces Edge kept making made it look like he either completely forgot what was scripted for the segment after his promo or realized that wasn't a silent fart he just ripped.

This week's RAW was a bit weird. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't that good either and felt more like something thrown together at the last minute instead of the post show for a PPV.

It's crazy how many times WWE could turn the ship around but instead rams the iceberg, full speed instead.

I don't blame the writers there, I've chatted with a handful of former writers before and it sounds so frustrating. Just like any show, they plan things for months, create a 'story bible' just like any other tv series and Vince loves this and that and then throws it all out of the window the day something is supposed to start. Vince constantly wants things planned long-term and asks for it and then makes that job impossible to deliver. He creates an uneven show that's all over the place instead.

xrod was doing it first. And he was totally right. I should have seen it, but my stupid optimism got in the way.

And he's right about hypocrisy. It's amazing how many people actually buy into the online mythology spread by Meltzer. I don't think he's on the take or anything, but his opinions are so skewered at this point. WWE = bad, AEW = good, even if they do the same thing. And just about anything WWE does is somehow centered on crushing AEW. They were both loading up the show and poorly promoting it just to crush those poor independent bastards who are doing amazing business compared to the WWE in their massive landslide.

I get being disenchanted with the WWE. And fans are allowed to be biased. But that's what's fucking annoying. Matt Hardy teleporting is exactly the sort of shit I would get pissed at WWE for.

Eh, the writers are shitty anyway. And they should know what they are getting into. Chances are the show would suck even if they were given free reign.

The thing that surprised me the most when I read up on WWE's Creative process some time ago was that they've been hiring continuity managers for years like every other notable show does.

Nobody lasts long on the job because either WWE just quickly fires them or they flat out quit after quickly dealing with WWE's creative nonsense.

The "Vince gets tired of tag teams" thing is a real thing too. He'll go thru phases where he doesn't understand why anyone isn't pitching tag team stories to him and then a few months later he'll talk about wanting to get away from tag teams as a focus.

It seems like it's impossible to predict what he'll want and focus on that because he's all over the place often. One person I chat with occasionally went from writing on a soap opera to WWE and he said he thought WWE would be a piece of cake after soaps, which have 5 one hour episodes a week and the plots range from murder to mystery to romance....nope, said WWE was the hardest job he's ever had as a writer.

MVP and Lashley connection is fine by me. Looks like they could be building Lashley for a feud with McIntyre imminently. I think that could be a good programme.
