I just got dinner at the big sports bar, it was all Texas fans. Today was a pretty stellar day overall in college football though.

First, Alabama did some work on Florida, top 10 maybe? Then Maryland beats Virginia, USC was in a bad way until ASU stopped playing, and then Nebraska, who is going to be the worst team with double digit wins, takes ISU in OT. There will be a lot of changing in the top 25 this week.

Random question, what is the last Big East team to win the national title?

I guess that doesn't really count, since Miami was in there forever, but what like East Coast team, like BC or Syracuse or something up there?

It was insane at BDS. Loudest I've heard it with a team not named Auburn on the sidelines. It was bitter sweet though, Prothro is out for the year. MAy be the overall best player in the country (returns kicks, punts, wide receiver, lines up at RB, QB - does it all). Fucking sucks. His ankle break was nasty. Some people say he shouldn't have been in there but they are the same douches that would be praising them if he would have caught a TD. I can understand him being in but with 8:53 in the game I wished we would have been running it more, even on 4th and 5. I think we will be alright though, we are pretty deep at WR.

Still, 31 TO FUCKING 3!!!!

Yeah that break was sick. I hate seeing stuff like that. The guy doing commentary on Sportscenter was a little late on the "Don't look if you don't like to see this sort of thing" as his ankle was already broken in half.

Yeah Prothro is up there. He's like the new style of athletic player (Hester, Ginn, Williams etc) Going to see a lot more of them coming up now I bet.

college football is terible in the Northeast. Not as big as the other parts of the country. People are die hard fans here in the south, but I just can't get into it at all. Don't even care. Mainly cause I don't have a team to cheer for that's decent.

And Virginia and Penn are not part of the northeast.

Texas over USC in the Rose Bowl. USC has gotten out of some big holes already, but for some reason I think they will roll through ND pretty easily.

Going to the Boston College/Virgina game tomorrow at the Heights. My former teammate is on BC but he ended up redshirting so I won't see him on the field. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up with him afterwards

Hopefully. We have a history of being horrible on the road, and we don't have much momentum. CU holding them to a field goal at home gives me confidence that they aren't very good, which is good though. Who is CU playing this week? I want to say Iowa State maybe?

Actually CU shut them out. They were about to score a garbage touchdown and a CU player picked off Bobby Reid and took it 90+ yds to the house. Their offense is horrible. As for CU this week, it's Homecoming and we're playing Texas A&M.

The offensive lineman for Virgina took the biggest cheap shot I've ever seen. Kiwanka or however you spell it. Boston College's nasty defensive end was already hurt earlier in the game. So after a play the OT dove right at the back of his legs trying to hurt him even worse. Fucking ridiciulous, Kiwi is gonna be a top 10 pick in the NFL draft and that dick dag was taking shots like that at him. Washington, BC's starting DT got ejected when he jumped on the dude's back. Then Kiwi got throw out when he punched him in the face.

1. Look at the upsets this week!
a. Baylor over Iowa State!
b. Minnesota over Michigan (first time in 15 years I think?)
c. Northwestern over Wisconsin

2. Look at the good games
a. Texas finally beating OU
b. Texas Tech showing Nebraska that a shitty schedule doesn't mean they are good

I didn't get to see many games because I was on the road from 6 p.m. until about 1 a.m., but the Mizzou at OSU game was pretty good. Boone Pickens is an alright stadium. It has some cool aspects, I like how its real tall and narrow, but then its also average in some aspects, and there were only like 42,000 there. (and they want to expand it majorly).

Anyway, we dominated the first half again, holding them to only three field goals (thats only because they basically started every drive on the 50 because of shitty kick coverage). Then in the second half they came back and cut a 22 point lead into 7, but we held on. Definately nerve wracking. Got to go look at the rest of the scores etc. now.

That was definitely a blatant attempt to injure that player. The DE had an injured leg and wasn't even involved anywhere near the tackle and the OT just drops down and chop blocks him. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen. I agree that he should be thrown right off the team.

I mean its terrible move no matter who it is but Kiwi is probably going to go top 10 draft. He is the preseason ACC Player of the Year as well as probably the top defensive end heading into the NFL Draft. He could have cost him millons of dollars with that move. Not only was it a cheap shot but it was such a meaningless move, I was at the game and Virigina had no chance of winning that game. Only reason the score was as "close" as it was was because 3 missed FGs by Boston College.

No they won't. Texas is a whole big step ahead of anybody in the Big 12. Vince Young is too big and too fast, you might stay with them for a half but Texas will end up winning quite easily. They will beat USC in the Rose Bowl.
