The new Japanese reliever the Sox got gave up a HR in his first pitch but then looked alright the rest of the way. I hope that first pitch was just nerves or something

We got the revelation tonight apparently. 7 IP, 1 ER. AND he doubled in 2 runs. Once again, phenomenal defense tonight. Good game all around.

Braden Looper starting for the Cards tomorrow...there would be no better way to wrap up the series than to rape him big time, but we'll see. John Maine has a tough act to follow with what Duque gave today but I'm eager to see it.

lol wow Mike Lowell made 3 errors tonight after making 6 the entire season last year.

I hope he doesn't catch A-Roditus

Beckett only had 1 ER tonight but only got 5 innings in, gave up way too many walks but he did look to have much more command of his non-fastball pitches then he did last season.

Top game between the Sox and Tribe, both teams had hot bats going today. Westbrook got pounded, went for 7 runs in 5, then Borowski somehow pulled a save out of his arse. But yeah, I love watching these 2 offenses come up against each other.

Beckett only had 1 ER tonight but only got 5 innings in, gave up way too many walks but he did look to have much more command of his non-fastball pitches then he did last season.
It was either Francona or Beckett said in weei the other day that last year to try and prevent blister issues, on his off days he was only allowed to throw fastballs, and his other pitches he could only throw game day... So, consequently he never felt comfortable with them and tried to get through most games last year throwing 3 speeds of a fastball.

I think he'll have a good year...

I almost want to see Dice-K get shelled today just to watch/listen to everyone freak out
