Simply letting you edit rosters in Season mode would help a lot. Remember HCTP?

Yeah, that was great. As long as season is VO-based though, it won't happen. Otherwise they'd have to have everyone record VO for every possible storyline depending on how you shake the rosters up, and I just don't see it happening.

If they had the option to eliminate VO and do a text-based season (with different storylines to go through and all that, while caryring data from past seasons), it'd be pretty awesome. I did at least a dozen seasons in HCTP and I always had a blast checking the stats of the other wrestlers. I would shake the rosters up too, just for the hell of it.

I'd just keep him in, especially if it would be hard to recode everything.

But they will probably take him out regardless, so I wouldn't be surprised to see the game be pushed back until mid-December.

There will be a small update tomorrow. It's probably something we already know though like Powerhouse's such as Batista and Bobby Lashey have 2 special abilities which are "Rampage" - which opponents can't reverse attacks for one minute, and "Power Out" which uses a stored finisher to power out of any pin/Hardcore like Sandman have "Rage Out" - They can grab a chair and smack themselves in the face, causing the them face to bleed, but giving them extra momentum.

Apparently in GamesMaster magazine, this was said:

"We went to Japan and tested this game out, starting with an Extreme rules match. Amazingly there were 10 superstars involved."

I won't believe it until I see it, but 10 superstars on screen would be pretty kickass and it would mean 5 vs. 5 Survivor Series elimination matches.

Last I heared Vito, both the HUD and the GUI(submission meter) were removed. Anyway here what Jeremy Dunham said about Monday's update.

Just a head's up -- the hands-on article I referred to in that Roster update yesterday will post Monday evening (PST), July 9. It's a hands-on piece with the E3 builds of the DS, Wii and PS3/Xbox 360 versions of the game. All three are different too, so when I visited THQ to check them out I brought Matt and Bozon from the Nintendo team along with me. As you'd expect, we'll have some new details and media from all the platforms to go along with our write-ups, so be on the lookout for that.

On a related note, I have accepted a promotion within the company and have ascended from my Editor--in-Chief role on the PlayStation Team to the even-bigger task of Editorial Manager for all of IGN.com's games properties. With this move into second-highest editorial role on the network (behind Tal) it means that my writing will drastically decrease. I'm handing over the reigns of our yearly SmackDown coverage to Mark Bozon (Nintendo Team), Greg Miller (PlayStation Team), and David Craddock (Xbox Team) and all three will do a fine job with the Countdown and are familiar enough with the product to do it justice. Of course, I may pop in now and again with an article here and there, but it's hard to say.

Anyway, I figured I'd just give you guys a bit of an explanation/ goodbye since I've worked so closely with the SmackDown community over the last 5 years-plus. I hope that you enjoyed our coverage as much as I enjoyed bringing it to you, and want to reiterate that just because I'm moving on, it doesn't mean our previews, news, and features are too.
