• In one of the funniest commentary cover-ups of all time, Stevie Ray and Lex Luger were having a discussion. Luger asked Stevie Ray if what he was about to say was between the two of them. Stevie Ray replied by saying "yes, and 5,000 viewers". Of course, even in these dying days the company had a lot more than 5,000 viewers. Schivone tried to cover by saying, and I wish I was making this up, that Stevie meant "5,000 viewers in each house".

* Jericho was involved in another segment backstage where he was chasing another wrestler. The cameras didn't cut and so the viewing audience were treated to seeing the two wrestlers suddenly stop running, turn round and walk casually towards the camera while chatting away.

* Scott Hall cut a promo where he claimed he had been banned from saying "Hey Yo!". The promo was unscripted and made no sense, especially because he said "hey yo" in the promo.

• WCW decided to issue a random drugs test. Scott Steiner claimed to have injured his back and didn't attend. It's speculated he was tipped off by WCW management, fully aware Steiner would fail, about the testing. In his next match against Scott Norton, the WCW fans started chanting "Steroids!" "Steroids!" and Bobby Heenan said he had "never heard a crowd so pumped up in his life".

lolll

God that promo seriously outshined everything going on in WCW at the time.

As far as not having a program to talk about, the whole segment was clearly just an excuse for Gene to slip in the Wrestling With Shadows plug at the end.

Pretty much, this promo should disprove the idea that Bret Hart can't talk. The guy grafted an entertaining promo about noting right here. Absolutely nothing, he had no feud to set up, nothing.

This is a great thread. Don't know how this never happened:
Quote:
"A Tv Series starring Duggan called 'Biker's Court' was attempting to be sold for syndication at the NATPE convention last week. It was a worked cross between Judge Judy and Jerry Springer, with bikers as the jurors, a silicon implanted baliff and Duggan carrying his 2X4 as the judge. A typical episode is a midget smoker who is suing the tobacco companies claiming smoking stunted his growth and asking for compensation for a multimillion dollar NBA career that he didn't have"

I feel like WWE has done that at some point. Maybe not only 2 announced matches but I definitely remember a B-PPV like Backlash or Judgment Day back in the late 90s/early 2000s having only 3 or 4 announced matches and then like 5 undercard matches that didn't even have a storyline.

Also in 2011 or 2012 I remember they went on a streak of not announcing half the PPV card and you'd end up getting like 3 or 4 unannounced matches with no build.

Also in 2011 or 2012 I remember they went on a streak of not announcing half the PPV card and you'd end up getting like 3 or 4 unannounced matches with no build.
Didn't they do this with the last PPV? lol

A typical episode is a midget smoker who is suing the tobacco companies claiming smoking stunted his growth and asking for compensation for a multimillion dollar NBA career that he didn't have"
What? No legit judge would allow you to sue for non-existent or speculative wrongs or injuries! I'm already done with this show!

Had December to Dismember never happened, Paul Heyman might have stayed in control of the ECW brand for the forseeable future. Wonder if it would have still wound being the pseudo-development show it ended up being by 2008.

It'd be nice if they actually gave Heyman the book to run the show.
