God that promo seriously outshined everything going on in WCW at the time.
As far as not having a program to talk about, the whole segment was clearly just an excuse for Gene to slip in the Wrestling With Shadows plug at the end. |

Pretty much, this promo should disprove the idea that Bret Hart can't talk. The guy grafted an entertaining promo about noting right here. Absolutely nothing, he had no feud to set up, nothing.

"Eddie Guerrero double count out Syxx in a 2:00 ladder match. I've got a feeling watching a ladder match go to a double count out in that short a time on TV will make me spent $27.95 to see them have a rematch." - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: January 20, 1997.
"{Steve McMichael} was rumored to be earning in the $350,000 range when he was announcing, haven't heard any word on what he's making to wrestle - or whatever it is they call what he does." - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: January 27, 1997. hahaha |

Say what you will about WWE's current product... I'll take Super Cena & The Funkasuars over WCW at that cluster fuck time period.

"Jericho, who was wrestling Eddie Guerrero (his tag team partner, figure that one out), started running down the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Well the heat was expensive this time and the crowd went totally out of control throwing things. Ringsiders were getting nailed with bottles and and security had to call 30 back up police officers. Several fans were injured. Guerrero had to play face and say he was going to give Jericho a Cornhuskers ass whipping" - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: March 09, 1998

"Just five days before the World War III PPV in Auburn Hills, MI, there are only two matches announced for the show with no episodes of Nitro left to promote them" - The Wrestling Observer Newsletter: November 23, 1998
LOL. I actually remember this despite it only being my first few months of watching. They randomly announced the entire undercard during WCW Saturday Night. |

I feel like WWE has done that at some point. Maybe not only 2 announced matches but I definitely remember a B-PPV like Backlash or Judgment Day back in the late 90s/early 2000s having only 3 or 4 announced matches and then like 5 undercard matches that didn't even have a storyline.
Also in 2011 or 2012 I remember they went on a streak of not announcing half the PPV card and you'd end up getting like 3 or 4 unannounced matches with no build. |

Had December to Dismember never happened, Paul Heyman might have stayed in control of the ECW brand for the forseeable future. Wonder if it would have still wound being the pseudo-development show it ended up being by 2008.

It'd be nice if they actually gave Heyman the book to run the show.
